Ghost in the Lock or Ghosted by Baldwin?

I spent nearly $700 total for 2 of these Baldwin Evolved locks for a home remodel from Build.com. They've both failed- spontaneously unlocking at random times of day or night. This video shows that while on the phone with Baldwin customer service, post new batteries, software update, checking sensitivity settings and locking the door, the lock will spontaneously come unlocked (about 20 seconds in). This conversation took place within the Baldwin warranty window for the lock's electronics. Rather than issuing refund, Baldwin continued to troubleshoot, even sending me new electronics and when those didn't resolve the issue, they continued to advise new batteries (which run out quickly anyway), another software update, or new this that or the other changes to settings- and in so doing, they pushed me past the window for refund. Not to mention the cost of time in the exorbitant amount of it I spent on the phone over the past 3 years. This is not safe, it's not, secure, it certainly does not deliver on the intended purpose. Neither Baldwin nor Build.com have worked with me to issue refund or replacement- shameful for such a name brand experience. To top it off, the item is now discontinued.

Great product

There is a discrepancy in the pricing description. The lock itself is nicely designed but it cannot be installed on 2 1-4” thick door.

Absolute rubbish

The lock eats AA batteries. Lots of batteries. And then it breaks. Just outside the 12-month warranty period. An absolute disgrace. Do not buy. You have been warned!

WORST PRODUCT EVER!!!!

I purchased this product because I did not want buttons/numbers on the door. What a mistake!!! The door lock/app work 10% of the time. I end up having to look for my keys to unlock the door and is not fun when your hands are full! I also bought the FOB-never worked!! Yesterday, the door knob got stuck and will not work. To pay $800 for a knob to break in less than a year means this product is garbage! DO NOT BUY!!!!

I have owned a Yale with August not as elegant but it never fails. Kevo/Baldwin does not have the tech support for a reliable lock don’t recommend

Does not work

I have tried for two days to pair my phone to the lock and it doesn’t work. One one person can connect their phone to the door but everyone else can’t. What kind of company let’s only one person be able to use their door. Worthless product that no one should use, save your moves and get a different product. 0 stars

Good hardware wish it was a longer deadbolt but serves purpose from washroom to garage could use a key function from the outside I may buy another manufactur for the key outside option

I bought this as I was after a dummy deadbolt with a specific look but could never find it. I have to say this has a fantastic look and feel and is veey well built.
