[Rewarded Review] Quality lock!

I had a Schlage lock already which needed replacing due to one of the battery wires becoming disconnected. It was approximately 10 years old.

[Rewarded Review] Just So So

This item looks nice and the trim matches well with compatible designs offered in various types of latch sets. I like that the mechanism to open and close the bolt is manual and not motorized. This particular model requires you to enter a code to lock the door From the outside. Other models we looked at we’re ready to lock from the outside Simply by turning the knob, no code required.

Total Junk - Ultimately stops working with no fix

I bought 5 of these locks and installed them correctly. They work for a short period of time but eventually every one of them failed. The dial doesn't catch after entering the code consistently at first then after some use it totally stops working. I had all 5 replaced under warranty but the new batch of locks failed in the same manner. It's cheaply built with cast aluminum parts inside that either wear out or break. Not worth the money or hassle to install.

[Rewarded Review] Replacement lock for old dead bolt assembly

Got this to help with easier access in and out for multiple folks/friends for our son’s apartment door. Works good but couldn’t change the key slot to make a one key fits all for the house - takes away from some of the benefit we get with changing this to be the same key as other locks.

Will not engage gear to open

A little over one year old and about 1/2 of the time the gears will not engage to allow opening and closing. New battery did not help. Must try multiple times to unlock or lock from the outside.

[Rewarded Review] Good……at first. Then NOT GOOD

I’ve had this lock for about 3 years. The lockers worked well at first then the touch screen would not work and I could not connect to the lock with Bluetooth. Customer support was very good about getting me another lock but we still have issues with this lock. The key pad will not always work the way it should. I’m just waiting for one more episode then I’m buying a different lock.

[Rewarded Review] Great lock

I bought this lock about 2 weeks ago. First electronic lock I tried ,but very satisfied with the performance.

2 out of 3 had issues

Bought three of these to relock a new house 2 years ago. One of the units worked fine and still does. One had disfigured metal from the manufacturing process and needed to be adjusted with a grinder and spacer to work properly. A third would had intermittent issues closing the lock from the outside. We put it on a door we rarely use but should have returned it. The lock has now failed permanently.

OK, but not ok.

When it works is great but the mechanism seems to work a different way each time it is used. My tenant just leaves the door unlocked ( which defeats the purpose of buying the lock) because it is not as easy to work as the original model I purchased for my front door, which has been flawless.

[Rewarded Review] Great lock

I bought this lock a couple of years ago and have had virtually no problems. Easy install, easy coding and great quality. Has 1 small issue with the looking mechanism and had no issue in getting a replacement. All I needed was a replacement part, but they sent a new lock!

Disappointing

I bought an earlier version of this years ago and did not want WiFi enabled so ordered two of these for back doors. Unlike the earlier version, you can only program one code instead of two, and it requires turning the lock whereas the earlier version did not. Disappointing because not as good as earlier version but not worth returning because they were for doors I do not use daily.

Would’ve thought for the price point, that it would lock electronically from outside with the push of a button. Guess I should’ve read the package better. Doesn’t meet our expectations, but it’s built well, and it’s a Schlage…we’ll keep it.

Great lock but not perfect.

Repeat purchaser of this product - like it because it's not automatic as our old home doors aren't perfectly aligned. But the gears wear out or get misaligned somehow so we've had to replace a couple of them after some 5 years or so. Not happy about that but haven't found another lock quite like it and the cost isn't excessive.

Horrible Deadbolt

The deadbolt slips when trying to lock or unlock. Many attempts and no luck. The unit is just over a year old. Bought it Jan of 2023. I have tried changing the battery, and still get the slipping. Leaves me to go through the garage to get in my house. Do not recommend this item or similar ones from Schlage to anyone.

This worked for us until it didn't! About 6 months after installation, the exterior bolt knob stopped catching and there would be times we couldn't open the deadbolt because of this. Very frustrating. We eventually got rid of the door we used this on in a home renovation, so it worked for a time, but frustrated us the rest of the time.

Knob freespins 90% of the time

I've had 4 of these products for less than a year and 90% of the time the outside knob is unable to catch and lock/unlock the deadbolt. The first 2 pairs did the same so I exchanged them. The current 2 pairs are now doing the same thing. It seems like this is a common issue with them, based on the other 1 and 2 star reviews. I'll be replacing these completely with another brand. This product should be better for how much it is priced.

Easy to install and program

First I bought the Schlage BE365 with the larger toggle on the front. Programming and getting the key out of the lock was a little vague, so I called Tech Support and they walked me through on how to get the key out of the lock. I spoke to a very nice Lady out of Kansas. She was also able to walk me through adding both of our codes so that my wife and I can unlock the unit. I just had Lowe's install a whole new entry door with a screen door, once I was finished with the deadbolt install I went to close the door and it wouldn't close due to the locking mechanism hitting the handle on our new Door. So, I pulled that unit and put everything back in the box, returned it to Lowe's they credited my account for both the lock and the extended warranty. I picked up the BE375, installed that one in 15 minutes and programmed it as well. We love how it turned out and we're satisfied knowing that there's a quality deadbolt on our entry door, along with a Stupendous Customer Service Representative to get us out of a jam if we need it. The first pic is the model BE365, with the larger toggle, the second is the BE375 with the smaller toggle which allows the door to close and lock with the Storm Door.

Way too difficult to use, but it does look good.

I got this for a door we seldom use but needed something for contractors. For an everyday door that the entire family uses, it is WAY TOO difficult. You have to enter the code when locking it from the outside, and to get in, if something is chasing you, forget about going through that door, you have to press the top button, wait until the flashing stops, then enter your code, way too long.

Don’t buy the jump start. Will lock you out.

Bought one of these a year ago. Knob started not latching to bolt. Eventually quit altogether and couldn’t get in from outside. Mechanical problem inside the lock. Battery jump start was useless. Supposed to be getting my money back from Schlage but haven’t so far.

Broke less then a year

First it’s a bigger opening then what was on my door so I had to redrill. After eight months the lock doesn’t work 30% of the time or so. The handle just spins in circles. It’s supposedly covered by a three year warranty. I have been on hold with Schlage CS for 40 minutes now waiting for help. Would not buy this lock or brand again
