Defective faucet: hands free doesn’t work, disappointed!

Wow to the K-22036-VS

We had a faucet with low water flow and this faucet solved our low flow problem. The boost flow just adds to our delight! This faucet was easy to install and the installation instructions were spot on. The touchless aspect really adds to our pleasure.

Bad design, incorrect parts

The sensor on the bottom causes the sink to operate when steam comes up from the sink. Also randomly turned on and off with nobody in the kitchen. Finally the wrong pulldown hose was packed in the box. Replaced the faucet with one from another maker.

Faulty Faucet

Had a professional plumber install faucet. It only worked for 30 minutes. Upon repair it did the same thing. We returned for a full refund.

horrible! too much trouble!

So sad that we tried 2 of the K-22036 and neither worked, the first one looked like it was missing parts, and sprayed the inside of the cabinet, even though the box looked intact, the second one would only work on the manual mode the touch / wave did not. the client refused to try a third!

Awesome faucet, my wife loves the touchless feature. It's very high quality, just what I wanted.

Unimpressed with Faucet

The faucet has an unnatural control knob at its base. It’s also odd that it needs to be turned on manually - and then hands free works. At the end of use it’s necessary to shut it off manually. It drips for a while after you shut it off and then stops. Maybe there are two valves - and I need to close one first? No manual comes with it. Meh. Expensive. Wouldn’t buy again if I had to do it over.

Robust faucet

The Kohler Simplice Touchless pull-down kitchen faucet is a great Up-grade for My Kitchen.

This was a great addition to my kitchen. The Simplice unit was easy to install. The instructions were very specific and easy to understand. An improvement to the installation instructions would be to highlight in bold letters "Insure the solenoid by-pass valve is in the open position."

Would recommend on sale, not at full price

Overall good quality, even though it is on the pricey end for faucets. The touch function works well. Relatively simple to install, however, the weight for the pull down head is supposed to affixed by a zip-tie, which seems rather cheap given the price point. The head doesn't pull down as seamlessly or smoothly, even compared to much lower end faucets.

Not Impressed

After using Moen for 40 years we decide to try a Kohler. The first one was not shipped in an additional box and the 2" round sticker securing the box was flopping and the box was open. The solenoid valve was missing. Back to Home Depot. The next one arrives. Once again the minimal sticker securing the box was open. All parts were in the box this time. It installed well, except the water would not turn on!. A few minutes later, while I was in another room, it turns on! Turns out there is a short in the touchless wiring inside the faucet. Wiggle the handle and it sometimes turns on. I called Kohler for a replacement, which is back-ordered in 2 months! I am still waiting for the replacement to arrive. It sure is a rocky start! I am very disappointed, with Kohler and Home Depot. It is a very expensive faucet. Kohler should secure the boxes better and Home Depot should ship it inside an additional box. Then add in the quality and supply issues! I recommend bypassing Kohler. .

Quality Is Lacking

Kohler replaced the Simplice kitchen faucet because the last failed. I was grateful they would replace it, but I would have to wait 2 months. I went into Kohler and could purchase it same day. I called and asked if I could purchase it and have them refund my money. They made an exception and allowed me to do it. I ordered it. Got a confirmation email with an order number. A week later I went to check on the status and it was no longer on my account. No email telling me it was cancelled. The order was not even on my account r on the Kohler site. Not even order was cancelled. I had to call and inquire what was going on. It was on back order. Lovely! Thanks for letting me not know.

Bought this 6 months ago and love it. It works perfectly with no issues. Love the toucheless feature. The pull out spray is great and I have no negatives. So glad we decided on this one.

Easy to install! Love the wide spray! Clean look!

Loved it the first year! Would still be loving it if the motionless feature was working.

The sensor mechanism stopped working during the second year, so it is no longer motionless, which I really miss a lot. Have not had any luck trying to find out if there is a sensor part that I can order to fix the issue yet.

Excellent choice

With the touchless function, this is even better than expected. Looks great in our kitchen.

We LOVE this faucet. The Blade spray is very efficient at sweeping away food etc.

Love the handsfree operation -- Hate the finish. It is very delicate and is already marred within one week of installation. I am very careful with the use of my fixtures and do not wear rings when washing dishes. Despite that, the finish on the pull-down part of the faucet is already damaged. The faucet also slightly wiggles in the counter despite multiple attempts at tightening the clamp down part. There were also issues with the control board and the connection of the faucet sensor. If I didn't already have another matching faucet installed in my kitchen, I would take this one out, return it and buy another brand of better quality. Very disappointed.
