Disappointing
I had high hopes for this kettle since I already have the goose neck kettle which I've used for several months. I found the Corvo kettle has two major faults. 1)
This kettle made me a believer
I was on the fence about buying a kettle, but this has made me a believer. I specifically picked it because there’s no plastic parts inside that touch the water. Plus, it’s easy to use, heats up quickly, and makes tea time feel like a soothing ritual. And it doesn’t hurt that it looks beautiful sitting on my counter. The wood handle is worth the extra cost. Highly recommend.
Simply the best
I was looking for a temp control kettle. The chipper ones may look almost the same but I feel they wouldn’t last long or built with the same quality. You get what you pay for. Finally, I caved and got Corvo. I like teas, black, green, herbal. I didn’t realize how much the water temp affected the taste. My green teas before never tasted right. Or I didn’t really like Oolong because I didn’t know the right temp for it. With the Fellow kettle it’s night and day! If you’re on the fence because of the price, just buy it. And you’ll thank yourself with the great tasting tea. It’s a great investment for tea lovers.
Pass on this one unless you want a decorative item.
Looks great, aside from the wood handle being much darker than the marketing photos. That's what you're paying for here. The knob is feels very cheap, and there is no app connectivity for temperature and scheduling. Scheduling is also very limited (once or daily). The description says it can OTA receive updates, but I don't see how.
A beautiful timeless design, premium price point
I am very pleased with this kettle. Easy to use and intuitive and consistent in terms of temperature and flow. I do think it is quite a long time to bring up to the temperature for the price point (premium). I think the form factor and controls distinguish this kettle in the marketplace and the 20% sale price I purchased at helped. I would buy this again but wish it was a faster boiler at this price point.
Kettle alone / Where’s the base ?
So this is my second Fellows electric kettle - love them, bought this one to heat water in the Sprinter. Problem is my latest one was sent without the base - pictures on the website don’t accurately describe parts sent - seems like if the picture shows kettle and base and you drop $195. The base should be included so one has a functional kettle. Bummed !
This is not a want....it is a need.
We have been using our Fellow Convo EKG tea kettle for a few months now. I put off purchasing this item until my old kettle died totally. While I am pleased with the financial soundness of waiting until a want becomes a need....I didn't realize that I actually needed this for a long time. The size lends it self to quick boil times and comfortable pouring. The aesthetic is on point. And the temperature selector is brilliant. You need this.
Love this - absolutely no regrets
This is a great kettle! Love it. I’m a tea drinker and dont need the pour over feature, so I chose this spout which pours quickly but also cleanly. I love the features of setting the temperature for different kinds of tea, altitude, schedule, it keeps the water hot for a set period after, so convenient for morning routines, and it can pre boil the water so you know it’s been sterilized. The matte black looks great. And I really love the feel of the handle in my hand, with achy hands, this handle holds and pours super comfortably. Really cant say enough - my only wish I guess was slightly larger capacity - but I'm able to heat two 16oz mugs worth of water at once which is what I needed. It’s also fast!
Very Nice Kettle
I've been enjoying this cute and compact kettle every day for about 2 months now. The features such as staying at temperature for a set time, changeable boil alert volume, and temperature control are all great. I was worried it would seem small, but for any 1-2 person household it's perfect and it boils so fast that if you needed more it wouldn't be a problem to do a second fill. It also pours very nicely. Only minor issue was that it took about a month of daily use for the lid to stop smelling plasticky.
Amazing and beautiful countertop tea kettle!
We've been using the Fellow Corvo EKG Pro Electric Tea Kettle for a few months and we love it. It's easy to use, especially when it comes to setting the boiling temperature for different types of tea. It heats up fast, which is ideal. And to top it off, it's an asethetic appliance and a beautiful piece that lives on our kitchen counter top.
Kettle and collection
Balanced well for pour overs. Holds desired temperature within a degree or 2 during the duration of the pour over. After a few placements on the heating element, it is easy to get the hang of where it goes. Great kettle. You want style and perfection in your kitchen get the kettle, grinder and scale to match. And then a great pour over round out your collection next to your vacuum canister of your favorite coffee.
It’s definitely a kettle!
I bought this to use with the same base as my Stagg EKG but for regular use. (The Stagg is too slow for anything but pour over.) This is way overkill and a bit small if all you need is to boil water but I can use it with the Hario Drip Assist for V60 and still control the water temperature so I’m happy with that. Best of both worlds. And it looks great and has solid construction.
Blazingly fast heat up time, elegant design and neat features.
I use to rely on my coffee maker to heat up water but this thing knocks that down in to storage. I heats up in under two minutes to 200 degrees fast, excellent for my coffee brew press. it's elegant design is a nice tough and I love the handle. It's not to big either which if your brewing for two people is good enough. It's a little pricey but I think it's a good investment.
Perfect Every Day
I love it. I considered it a splurge. I usually heat water for coffee or tea in the small saucepan that I also use when I occasionally make pasta or rice. It started when I decided to make tea a priority to help with health issues. I wanted to be able to heat water quickly and not be dependent on availability of a pot if I was doing other things like cooking or running the dishwasher. This item comes in three colors. I chose black and brown since I have dark brown kitchen cabinets and a black countertop. I created a little space on the edge of my island where this sits. I keep a few types of tea nearby. I have been using it daily and I'm very happy with the purchase. I live at 5K+ feet so I also used some of my amazon points to buy an oil that I can apply once a month to keep the wood in good shape and not dry out. This purchase also inspired me to check out Quince partners. From that page, I ordered tea and matcha from blue bottle coffee to try.
If you're hesitating, don't!
I did not want to spend this much for a kettle, but I also didn't want a big ugly kettle, and I wanted exact temperature control so I could have 158 for matcha, and various temperatures for all the other teas I drink. I spent days online looking at every kettle under the sun, and ended up back here. As soon as I used it the first time, all regrets about the cost flew out the window. It's a thing of beauty! It is the perfect size. It's actually larger than I expected after reading so many reviews about how tiny it is. I usually drink tea out of small cups, but you could probably get two big mugs of water at a time. It's lightning fast, easy to adjust the temperature, it holds that temperature, and even has a count-up brew timer (it took me a minute to figure out that it counts up). I use it all day long, not only for tea but when I need hot water for cooking or to clean a pan, to infuse spices, etc.
expensive but thoughtfully-designed tea kettle
Fellow makes one of the more thoughtfully-designed electric tea kettles. The design is simple and unassuming with an ergonomic knob/button for controlling the temperature and a separate menu button for accessing other features such as scheduling the kettle to turn on and, apparently, playing tetris (bricky). Long-pressing the knob activates a stopwatch; it would be nice if there was also a countdown timer. The kettle can receive firmware updates, so maybe they will add a countdown timer in the future. Temperature control is rapid and precise. The kettle itself is adequately sized (about 0.9 L = 4 cups), the pour is not-too-slow and not-too-fast for tea. The inside is all stainless steel with a silicone gasket around the temperature probe. The inside of the lid is stainless steel with a black silicone gasket. The outside of the lid is polypropylene plastic. Although it doesn't touch the water, be prepared for a plastic smell during the first week of use. Other than the lid, the kettle is single-wall and not insulated, so the outside is scalding to touch. It would be nice if they made a double-wall version. The price point is expensive, and if you want a gooseneck kettle there are more affordable alternatives (e.g. Greater Goods) with similar features, but this is the best tea kettle out there right now.
Very nice kettles- don’t forget to apply mineral oil
These kettles are the gold standard for many reasons: excellent build quality, high end materials and engineering (the gaskets on the lids work amazing), great function (amazing balance for precision pours), etc.
Hello Little Fellow!
My old faithful 14 year old kettle of another brand finally died. I loved it, and it is still made and sold by CB. It is less expensive than the Fellow kettle and I was strongly considering purchasing it again but the fellow won out for a few reasons. 1. Aesthetics. I mean - these kettles are a thing of beauty. But it is not empty beauty - they have function to match. 2. Size. I do not need a giant kettle dominating my countertop. I also don't need to boil large amounts of water at once. A big bulky and heavy kettle is not a delight to use. The Fellow is sleek in size and adequate in capacity. 3. Ergonomics. The Fellow Corvo EKG electric tea kettle has precision engineering behind its design. It is comfortable to pour in every aspect, and pours perfectly from its delicate spout. 4. Features. The precision temperature setting dial is fabulous. The timer feature is brilliant.
Fellow Corvo EKG Electric Kettle
Really enjoying this kettle. Quiet and quick. the ability to set temp is excellent. We use it for boiling water to make tea in a teapot. We drink different types of tea depending on time of day or night or occasion. Different teas require different temps so this is a useful function. The hold function is also something we are making use of. Very handy when you are busy and might not get to the kettle immediately. Aesthetically very appealing proving to be a very highly appreciated kitchen essential.
The precise temperature control is the main reason to get this kettle and that feature works quite well. It also looks decent, feels good to pour, and is solidly built.
