Disappointing

This wasn't cheap, but we thought since it wasn't the cheapest one there, it would work well. It does not. Connector hose leaks at both connection points. So much water is wasted, and creates huge puddles. When unwinding the hose, the unit is going all over the place. I should have waited and bought the more expensive one.

Flimsy product and a hassle to buy…. I went to the store to buy. They couldn’t get someone to get it for me. I ordered it online to pickup, supposedly within 2 hours. Many hours later I was notified it was ready. Apparently I must shop on their hours/terms at the Pottsgrove, PA store. Typical flimsy Suncast product. I can’t wait until a sturdy hose cart with Suncast features is made.

Does exactly what it says it does.

I bought this product to use with a 100' long hose. It worked very well, and it was obvious that it would easily handle a much longer hose (as you would expect, based on the package labeling). As I was using it, I did wonder if perhaps it might have been nice to have the option of having the handle on the opposide end of the reel, but there was no way that I could see to actually try it that way. Nevertheless, I have been very satisfied with the product as it does exactly what I expected it to do when I bought it.

This hose reel cart came in an absolutely unnecessarily large box, but it’s incredibly lightweight. By this, I don’t mean that it’s flimsy because it’s actually remarkably sturdy plastic. I must admit, I’ve typically just wadded up my water hose and prayed that the elements and animals didn’t take it. It was in God’s hands. No more. It was my “discovering the existence of fire” moment. It took me a ridiculously long time to wind my kinked up hose, but that had more to do with my improper storage than a bad product. Once I got the hose onto the reel, I felt like I had climbed Everest. Now, though, watering the lawn and flowers is an absolute breeze. No more muddy hands, no more dirty clothes, and no more piles of hose to trip on. This probably quite literally saved someone’s life. I’ve not tried rolling this around too much, so it stays outside beside the house. I’m not sure how well it will stay up to the elements, but we will find out soon enough I’m sure. Until then, this is definitely worth it.

I received this 225 ft capacity Hosemobile Pro Garden Hose Reel Cart from Influenster and Suncast in exchange for my honest opinion. To test this out, I purchased an extra 100ft heavy duty hose. The reel holds it with tons of room to spare. Added our 50ft hose, still lots of room left on the reel. It is made of plastic, but is very durable and easily wheels around the yard regardless of terrain. When winding the hose around the reel, there is a foot rest to help hold it steady. Something our smaller hose cart does not have. There is also a bin/basket for storage. There are two hose slots on the bin but it will only hold the heavy duty hose in place. The thinner 50ft hose slides out of the slot. Folding it into the reel works just fine. Very nice hose cart.

The Suncast Mocha Pro Garden Hose Reel Cart looks great in our yard and helps tremendously with hose storage and use. First off, I was able to set it up and load the hose all in under 5 minutes. It was super easy and the directions were very clear. I loaded my heavy rubber garden hose on with ease and the cart still feels super steady and durable. I haven’t been able to put this hose on other reels I have tried. The mocha color fits in great with the house and yard. The best part though is that once I turned the hose on there were no leaks! The leader hose has really nice built-in connectors that allow for a tight connection.

I received this product in exchange for my honest review. I had actually been looking at purchasing a hose cart and was glad this was the one I was able to try. It is easy to setup and use. It has made managing a hose more convenient. Simply roll the cart where you need the hose. My hoses were on the stiffer side so it was a bit tricky to wind up at first, but once it got going it was easy. That is really only an issue when installing. My only critique is that the plastic on the cart seems flimsy. I can see it cracking down the road after use. We will see if I’m correct about that or not. Overall, very happy with this product!

Poorly made

This hose reel did not inspire confidence right out of the box. The whole thing is loose and shaky, and once I loaded 100 feet of medium duty hose on it I could not get the reel to spin without the whole thing walking towards me as I tried to play out the hose. Efforts to then wind up the hose were also frustrating. I ended up just returning it to Home Depot.

Flimsy product with terrible customer support

I bought this hose reel and registered for the warranty a day or two after I bought it. The second time I used it the handle broke off. Not just Loose, but literally broke off. They would not honor the warranty. Worthless product from worthless company. I would avoid Suncast.

Don't buy, leaked from day 1!

We bought this from Lowes at the store and brought it home. From the minute we started using it leaked from the point where the connector hose from the faucet connects to the reel. I called customer support and they sent me two washers with no instructions. I should have insisted on a new unit. I had to figure out how to repair this myself. The experience was pretty terrible. We used (still leaks by the way!) it for three months and I am going to buy something to replace it. What a waste of $70.

Now worth the money

I needed a reel that’ll hold 200 feet of hose. It does. It absolutely doesn’t leak. That’s all I like about it.

Leaks from attachment plate

After reading the instructions, I hooked up all my hoses after Teflon taping all the hose threads. Turned on the water supply and all the threads were leakfree, however it leaked at the plate where the leader hose connects. Removed the plate using the yellow tab and discovered there wasn't enough o-ring lube. I added more lube to the o-ring, put the plate back on, turned the water back on and it was sealed, no leaks. If your reel has this issue you could try this.

Leak solved

Read instructions. Hooked up hoses. Turned on the water and all the hose fittings were leak free, however it leaked where the leader hose connects. Turned off the water, then removed the plate where a yellow tab is located. Pulled it out gently as it's plastic. Looked at the o-rings and there wasn't enough lube on them. I added more lube to get a better seal, reattached the plate. Turned on the water again and alas no more leaks. This may or may not work.If any plastic is broken it will leak.

Fell apart within a year!

Cheap, fragile plastic abounds in this LIGHT duty hose reel. don't even think of putting more than 25 ft of light duty hose on it, and only for shaded area with minimal use. we took care of our and although it was loaded to the max, it should have held together. the wheels, reel spindle, handle and hose coupler all broke and collapsed during normal use! what a waste of money. they just don't make these like they used to and are designed to fail IMO.

Poor quality

I purchased this last spring. I used it for the first time today and it’s still frustrating to use it. It’s made of plastic and it hasn’t held its shape over the course of a year. The reel sets somewhat cockeyed to the frame so it’s somewhat unstable unrolling and rolling up hose . The hose guide is the main issue. If there is any tension on it, you cannot slide it on its guide tubes. You have to guide the hose by hand. I would not purchase this again.

Suncast - Never Again

I purchased this Suncast hose reel from Home Depot on 9/29/2022. It is used to occasionally water the plants on my patio. On 12/27/2022, I turned the water on & the fitting that attaches the hose to the reel shot off along with a couple of cresent-shaped pieces of broken plastic, I contacted Suncast & submitted the requested claim with supporting photos. Last week, Suncast responded saying it was their determination that the failure was not covered under their (meaningless/worthless) warranty due to "extreme use beyond the design intentions of the product." The unit was NEVER subjected to “extreme” use. It was only 3 months old and is lightly used. To imply that I misused the product is plain insulting & wrong.

Just what I was looking for!

This hose reel is just what I was looking for. I have a very large yard with multiple flower beds. I needed a reel that can hold an extra long hose that can cover the territory without having to reposition the reel constantly. I have been using it for about 10 days and it is doing the job well. It seems sturdy and the connections fit hose and leader hose nicely. No leaks! Rewinds easily but because of the extra long hose, I have to be careful about distributing the hose evenly across the reel. I thought it came with a hose guide but it didn’t. My fault for not looking at the details closely enough. Otherwise, a great purchase.

Like the reel, harder to find a 225'. Two items...

Like the reel, harder to find a 225'. Two items need attention. When reeling out by pulling hose, Cart tips over at about 70'. I have to stop walking hose at about 60' and hand reel out closer to cart my remaining 40'. Your slide mechanism to reel up is Great to even out the hose collecting on reel. My 2nd use the slide rails came out of socket. Did not look to have any adhesive to keep slides bars in pocket. Need better support to keep slide bars in place. I modified by placing zip ties continuous loop just behind slide bar mount to eliminate any movement. My old reel had same issue, I was able to get 15 years out of it by using these zip ties. A long bolt thru these slides would eliminate separation issue.

Suncast 225' Cart Hose Reel

Gave this 3 stars with reservations. This is the 3rd one of these I've purchased in about 12 yrs. They don't last forever but the quality sure has declined over the years. I only bought it because I'm in urgent need and foolishly assuming for the sturdiness they've offered in the past. Not this one. The leader hose connection keeps twirling around the entire time while trying to connect the actual garden hose to the fitting. And the entire unit wants to travel unless you somehow stand on it with both feet (or you have help holding it down.) Then it will NOT let you wrap the hose tightly to the drum because it has a mind of it's own. The price is an abomination for such flimsy, cheaply made plastic hose reel. I hope I can get at least 2 seasons use from this model. (a tip: I do spray all the connections with silicone for easy on/off and that works great!) Suncast, please do better or else lower your price to half of what this cost!

Worked OK, but replacement parts not available

This is a decent hose reel for the money (it's plastic, so it's never going to be as solid as a metal one, but those cost a lot more). Had a couple of years of service out of it. Yesterday I went to change the existing garden hose on it for an upgraded replacement. The connection between the brass end of the hose and the L-shaped port that comes out from the center of the reel was pretty tight, despite no visible signs of corrosion and despite the plumber's tape I applied at the original installation. I had to give the wrench a pretty good tug to remove the hose but when I did, the L-shaped port snapped off. OK, no big deal, I'll just go to the company's website and order that part, which probably cost 8 cents to manufacture in Wuhan Province and which I'll probably pay $15 plus shipping. That's life.
