I have no issue with the product or delivery. I was told I could not receive a military discount on a subscription order. This seems odd because I can order the same item from the local store for pick up or delivery and receive the military discount. Based on this I cancelled my future subscription order.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get one of these filters to try my main heating and air-conditioning unit. I’ve been buying the regular model filter for many years now and it keeps the air pretty clean. This filter is a little bit more expensive in the life isn’t as long only about six months. The regular filter lasts an entire year. I’m curious to see how much it will help in the spring time with allergies.

I have been using AprilAire 413 filters for a number of years now and have been very pleased with their performance in filtering my entire house. With three dogs I am prone to having quite a bit of dog dander run through my air ducts and being able to capture it has helped maintain my gas furnace the past twelve years. The carbon filter is a nice touch especially if your house is prone to different odors. In resting state this filter is about and inch and a half higher than the regular filter. But once extended into the air cleaner chamber they are identical in size so both will fit the models listed.

This filter will be used in a whole house air filtration system I am building. This filter is perfect for that application because of its four inch thickness and it’s having many pleats giving it a large surface area. It is MERV 13 rated it will trap mold spores, bacteria, pet dander, dust and pollen. It also has the capability to trap pet and cooking odors. I believe this filter will work well in my system.

When I ordered this I saw 16 x 25 only. I didn't read the 4 inches thick part. I was so hoping for a carbon air cleaner to really keep the air in my house fresh. Unfortunately, this awesome filter will not fit into my heater space. I will have to find some other way to use this and I am very disappointed in myself for not reading the description more carefully.

[Rewarded Review] Very Compact

This filter is made for an extremely limited amount of heating and air conditioning systems. While yes, it is 16x25x4, it comes in a small tube which you have to assemble. Now the part I didn't realize is that you have to have a filter box that is made SPECIFICALLY for a "Aprilaire.com" filter box. In this type unit, you will have a sliding track on the top and bottom of 6our filter box. Mine are not setup that way, and there is really no way of knowing until after you get the boxed filter home out of the box. Now that I have the filter, I am doing to try and figure out a way to still use it. Most liking using the cardboard ends from the existing filter. Something I like very much about this filter is that it comes with activated carbon built into the filter media. I am interested to see if this helps with cooking smells in the home.

[Rewarded Review] Great Filter

Our house has the Aprilaire filter system that was installed in a remodeling three years ago. I have found this to be a much better filtration system than the standard one inch filters that have been around for years. The filter is four inches thick which gives much more filter material to catch the dust. Thus, the filter has to be changed twice a year , where we had to change the one inch every month! This carbon air filter has activated charcoal in the fabric to allow pollutants and smells to be removed.

[Rewarded Review] Highly efficient, limited application

With a MERV rating of 13 this is one of the best furnace filters you can find for removing particles from the air in your home. It removes lots of nasty stuff including viruses, which makes it especially good during the winter months. Unfortunately this will only fit Aprilaire units, which require special tracks to hold the filter. This was not clear to me when I saw it online. It also comes in a smaller than expected box and expands to the size indicated. I found it strange that the box did not indicate a size and when I measured mine it was 16 x 28 not the 16 x 25 described online.
