Bought this to replace a 25+ year old coil type...

Bought this to replace a 25+ year old coil type cooktop at my son's residence. So far, they are enjoying it very much. It did require purchase of some new pots and pans which are capable of working on an induction cooktop but the expense wasn't that great. The installation and operating instructions were not entirely understandable but by experimenting a bit, eventually things became much clearer. The unit did require us to enlarge the mounting hole in the counter top slightly and ensure there was adequate space in front of the fan forced cooling vents which the unit has on three sides that keep the induction coils cool. The unit rapidly heats the pans/pots and their contents and will not start unless it senses there's a pot/pan in place. There are also other safety features such as a child lock and a residual heat indicator. The price was very reasonable and we hope to give it a good workout in the coming holidays.

Easy to install, easy to use, to clean, like it a lot, you Never see the red light on the stove. You need to check the pots before use them but pretty much I am very happy with it
