Don’t Do It! Buyer Beware

Avoid Samsung products. Major component failed explosively while wife using. Samsung tech came -was pretty rude. Returns week later w/ part. Cooktop back in action. Then my wife slides a pot into corner of glass & put a crack at the corner. Other brands have metal frame to prevent this. Unit works fine. Month later another bang & same component has exploded. Tech returns-damage to glass means no longer under warranty & wants $750 to replace. Tech is a jerk- pushing my wife at one point.

This unit is nice IF it works. We are 9months into ownership and this is the second time it has gone down with a F0 error. Customer service is useless and just creates a ticket so that the repair team can look at it and create a new ticket for the engineering team. They then create a new ticket to get it repaired. The first time it went down for 2 weeks, this time is not looking any different. If you decide to purchase, have a backup cooking option!!!

Easy install however bonus offer hard to navigate

Replaced gas cooktop with streamlined induction loving the ease of cleanup with no knobs. The bonus cookware is super high quality made in Canada with no screws to come loose. DIY project taking some electrical skills is not for faint at heart but completed in one afternoon. Take your time attaching foam tape to underside about 1/16" (1.5mm) from edge - use one of 3 rolls provided for shorter sides as just enough when cut in half. Turns out there are two ways to register product. One is using QR code which only gets SmartTnings app up and running to see burner status. For warranty and bonus offer had to register separately in Samsung account and S/N length did not match box so used one from SmartThings. That is when bonus appears under My Offers in a pull-down menu which is not so obvious when following redemption instructions. No emails received dispite form saying so but followed process online and fulfillment was quick. Very happy with purchase regardless of backlog due to sale price and incentive.

Product is ok when it works. The digital control screen works poorly. Hard to operate if its dirty or there is grease on it. Weve had to shut off the circuit breaker a few times to reboot the controls. It is very frustrating. When it works it cooks fine. Glass scratches easily and it doesnt clean up well.

Unfortunately I found this product to be a bit restrictive regarding pan size. They say that the minimum size for the base of the pan is the same size as the ring around the cooking area. That is quite different than what the other brands I have looked at and from what I have read about the way induction actually works. I wish that had been made clear before I bought it and read the (very poor) manual. I have returned it and it is being replaced with one that works like an induction cooktop should. If you turn on one of the two left hand burners you cannot turn on the other. That makes no sense to me at all. What it means, however, is that you cannot use a griddle on it. It also cooked unevenly on a variety of skillets I tried to use for pancakes, not being able to use a griddle.

Broken after 2 months, took service staff 4 trips whole month to replace all the parts to fix it. Have to use camping cooking kit instead like a joke. Now after 14 months broken again, and out of warranty, I am using my camping cook kit again.

Fiddly controls

I like induction cooktops and this one cooks well. However, I took off two stars for the incredibly poor ergonomics and app installation which I eventually gave up on.

We love it so much, we've bought a 2nd one for a house we just bought. No knobs to get dirty and super fast cooking. But don't buy it if you need it soon. Our 2nd one is going to take almost 2 months before it will be delivered. Also, if they are still offering the free Circulon pots and pans don't expect them soon. Ours took over 4 months to arrive.

Beautiful, works great, super easy to clean

We've been using this cooktop for about 7 months. We love it! Heats up a pan and boils water extremely fast. Super easy to clean. Let cool after cooking, the wipe off any splatters with a wet, soapy sponge. Rinse out sponge and wipe it down again. Spray on some window cleaner, such as Windex, and dry with a paper towel. Even after creating a greasy mess on the cooktop it takes about 3 minutes to clean to a spotless shine. The timer feature could be more useful. Overall we love this cooktop!
