I’m really enjoying this cook top. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. It performs really well keeping an even temperature throughout cooking. I’m very happy with this product.

Much, much more than expected

More than what I expected!! Great temperature control, no more need to add water to heat up leftovers. Just set the burner at one or two bars and cover, it will be heated in minutes. Much, much better than a microwave. And the electric company gave me $100 credit for switching from gas to induction.

Broken and GE didn’t honor warranty

We ordered the GE profile cooktop and had it installed and it didn’t work properly. Some burners would only partially work, it would cook slower than it should, and sometime burners just wouldn’t work randomly. We’ve had multiple service techs come out and say that yes it’s not functioning correctly. They tried to fix it but couldn’t and said it needed to be replaced. Even though it is within the first year GE didn’t replace it for us and just offered to sell us a new one at a discount. Never buying GE kitchen appliances again! My parents got a cheaper induction cooktop from a less well known brand and it works amazing.

It's a pity that only black is available

We have just bought it. The previous GE Cafe was very good but the jar fell on the edge of the plate and cracked. It is not worth replacing it, so a new one at an affordable price. If the new one is like the previous one, it will be a very successful product, it is a pity that it is only in black (you can see the dirt), I will write a second review in a few months

Marginal Acceptability

Does not work well with Allclad stainless steel pans. We’ve used these pans with another brand induction cooktop with much better results.

Glass Cooktop

I've own the previous model for over 11yrs. My wife accidentally cracked the top and instead of replacing the glass, I thought getting the updated model was a better choice.

Awful cooktop

We hate this cooktop. The burners turn on and off, will only operate if pan is placed precisely on ring. Pans slightly too small or large don’t work.

Functions as fantastic as it looks

I absolutely love my new cook top looks fantastic and works even better. Boils water so fast a always cool to the touch once pan is removed.

Glad we made the switch

The cooktop works great. Heats up fast and is consistent in holding the temperature. I love the ability to connect the two burners to heat together. Great feature for using the griddle.

Intuitive

Easy to use. The controls work as expected, and the visual feedback on the settings helps insure the heat setting I want. Heats up fast! Off means Off, Now!

Great look and features.

I love the look of my new cooktop. Just installed today. Just heated up some water and I can’t believe how fast it came to a boil!

Performance Lags Behind Competitors

Skip this cooktop - and maybe even all induction tech from GE. We bought this as part of a kitchen remodel. Very excited for the move to induction. Our sales rep sold us on the bridge between the two left elements (more on that later), the layout, and overall value. While our home was being remodeled, we bought a one-element portable induction plate for our makeshift kitchen - so we could test induction and feel confident in the new pots and pans we selected. We were So Excited! I sprung for a Le Creuset flat griddle and lots of new frying pans.

Initial heating of burners and control set up.

I recently purchased a GE 30 inch induction cooktop.

Easy upgrade of cooktop to induction. Good product

Our primary reason for upgrading to a GE Profile 30" induction cooktop was that the footprint was identical to the previous GE Profile 30" electric cooktop we were replacing. This gave us the benefits of induction cooking while not having to cut or rearrange the granite counter cutout at great expense and trouble. The induction cooktop was easily installed and hooked up. We were already wired for the electricity capacity and we picked up and continued cooking with the new cooktop without losing a heartbeat
