The install was very simple. The toilet seat bolts work well, but could have used clearer instructions or a short video as the anchor install is not obvious. The operation of the toilet is perfect. This toilet has a larger than standard trapway. Shouldn’t have problems with clogging.

Easily gets toilet ring

I always trust Toto until recently bought Kohler toilet. All my Toto always been easily have build up toilet rings. A year ago I purchased and installed Toto Drake $400 and Kohler Cimaron <$200 at the same time a year ago. Kohler surface was much smoother. I can feel it when brushing it feels very slippery. This Toto Drake feels less smooth.

Don't order the 12" toilet they ship just the tank

I ordered this toilet twice, and each time Home Depot shipped just the ~tank~. I had to waste time returning the first shipment, and now I'm dealing with the hassle of stopping shipment/returning the second order. Just buy it from L-o-w-e-s and save yourself the trouble. Their website is less glitchy anyways. No idea why they're still trying to sell this.

Unable to get this product unbroken

We purchased this toilet over the summer and think it's a great product. When it came to replace another, we ordered the same. It delivered in one day but was literally in shards and powder. Had to return to the store, and ordered a replacement. We had that one as a pickup from store, assuming it wouldn't just be shipped to the store. Nothing was obviously rattling (unlike the first), but the base has numerous chunks broken off. So regrettably this doesn't seem like it is a product we can purchase from Lowes as we can't actually get it delivered whole.

The toilet itself is fine, but the seat is so uncomfortable!!! It is so thin you feel like there is barely anything supporting you, let alone something comfortable. I am a small person so it is definitely a real problem. Friends have also tried it and told us it is terribly uncomfortable. Definitely do not recommend getting the seat with this toilet.

Switching from 1.6 to 1.28 GPF, I was most concerned about flush power. This toilet is even better than my prior 1.6 GPF. It was rated at the top in MaP Testing on that issue. I also like the design, which is more rounded under the inside edge and easier to clean. I haven't had it long enough to replace any parts. But so far, I love it. My only minor delivery issue was that someone failed to note that it was picked up, so I kept getting reminders to do so for an extra couple of weeks... despite repeated efforts to notify the store it had been picked up.

Worth it

This Toto was installed easily (ask your plumber and they will tell you they don’t like some toilet designs), looks great with a more contemporary design than some other brands, and flushes strong with no issues. I replaced a one piece Woodbridge toilet with this Toto and it’s been a good decision. The one piece was causing mysterious smell issues which immediately went away when replaced with the Toto. It’s $100-$150 more than other models, but the elongated bowl is much more comfortable.

This is by and far the best Toilet I have Ever installed and used. It Flushes in about 2.5 Sec and Refills in 25 Sec. When Flushed it NEVER LEAVES anything behind. I can’t say enough about this Toto. Had a Kolher for several years did well but later I had to flush two or three times. Now Once

Terrible Service For Replacement Parts

This is not a bad review for Home Depot. This is regarding Toto. Bought toilet 5-6-24 and had it installed by a licensed plumber. Within 10 days tank would not hold water. Ordered replacement flush valve 5-22. June 7 part is still not here and the service rep must have forgot to ship it I was told. Will ship out next Weds. In my opinion - buy the Kohler if you need a toilet with a 10 in rough in. Toto has been a headache. Reps are nice but no follow through.

Great Power and rarely clogs but CiFion

This is a super easy toilet to install, and the piston that they use instead of the flapper is amazing. The power of the flush is great and I’ve only had the toilet clog once since I installed it a month ago. The stain resistant coating sucks though. The toilet seat also seems cheap and doesn’t stay in one place. Not a fan of how it attaches or how sloppy/wiggley it feels.

Purchased this toilet because I have a have a Toto Drake that has worked flawlessly for the past 30 years. The new version is even better. Flush action appears to be strong and filling quieter. Home Depot was the best price and included free shipping. Shipping was with UPS and they delivered to my front door. Was shipped in 2 boxes (tank and bottom) so it wasn't a struggle for 1 person to move it. Only criticism is the soft close seat. When compared to my older soft close toilet seat, the new one looks thinner (less plastic). The underside may be harder to clean because it is more "hollow". Did not use Customer Service (which is a plus).

So far so good. We recently purchased 2 of these Toto Drake "Modern" 1.26 gal single flush to replace 25 year old Crane toilets. Like many products these days, the number of brands and models of toilets is overwhelming. Doing the research was the biggest hurdle. As we got out of the lower priced tier of toilets, the reviews became increasingly positive and we finally settled on this Toto. There are many Toto Drake models, and not all of them have stellar reviews and test results (see consumer reports). To complicate matters, matching model numbers to model names can be a challenge. Each vendor makes slight changes in the name of the product so it can be hard to compare apples to apples between them. HD was offering a 10% off deal at the time, so we preferred to shop with them, & also because HD is a "know quantity;" to me as a general contractor (retired, but still somewhat active). In the end there was only one Toto in a reasonable price range (around $400) that received top marks for flushing, flush noise, and effective self-cleaning. We have used this Toto Drake for several weeks and are very pleased with the flush action. It empties fully every time. Self-cleaning is pretty good, occasionally side splatters need a gentle swipe with a toilet brush. The flush sound is a little better than average in my experience with gravity flush toilets. Install was straight forward. The bottom of the units are uniformly flat, so some shims may need to be used if your floor is not correspondingly flat. The tanks on these models are smaller than what used to be common in toilet tanks, so be mindful that the tank will take up less space that you might expect. The tank also sits a bit further off the wall than older styles of toilet. I think they look just fine in place, and we quickly adjusted to the different look. The component parts appear to be quality, thought time will tell how well they hold up. We had invested in a pair of Kohler soft close seats at HD for about $45 each 6 months ago and they "fit" us much better that the ones that came with the Toto, which are somewhat less "shaped" to meet our comfort level. These Toto Drake "Modern" units come with a built in hole in the bowl for bidet connection. It is positioned just at the left edge of where the seat bolts in. The Toto seats cover this, but the Kohler seats (with quick release for easy cleaning) do not. I purchased a 2" white sink hole plug to fill these holes, which looks just fine.

SLEEK DESIGN BUT NOT QUITE

My rating is really a 3 1/2 but that option is not given. The sleek design is definitely eye pleasing. However, for being a TOTO this toilet is extremely loud and the water runs for along time. Though this was at the lower end of their line just a little under 500.00 I would have thought

[Rewarded Review] Solid construction

We have decided to finish the basement. Got this toilet to start the job but my plumber is putting off installing the closet flange in the floor ( see pic ). I have already replaced the 3 other toilets in the house and find that this toilet is much heavier that the Kohler or American Standard. It seems to be a much stronger china material. There is a curious round hole in the bowl next to where the toilet seat is bolted on ( see pic ) that seems to have no purpose noted in the assembly/install instructions.

[Rewarded Review] Tornado Flush is the Real Deal

I just got this TOTO Drake Watersense toilet and let me tell you, it really has one of the most powerful flushes I've seen. All this and it only uses 1.28 gallons per flush instead of my old 1.6gpf toilet which saves water consumption and money on the water bill. It uses what they call a tornado flush and the water gets pushed around the bowl in a circular or tornado like motion. This gets every inch of the bowl clean. I've used it for a week now and haven't needed any cleanup or clogged toilets. The Cefiontect ceramic glaze and the rimless bowl also keep the bowl looking like new. Barely anything ever sticks to this type of ceramic since it is extra smooth. You won't have to worry about black mildew and fungus anymore since there is no lip for it to grow. First time I've ever used a toilet like that and it makes me think, why aren't every toilet bowl made like this. The universal height makes the seat higher so it is much easier to sit down and get up from. The cover is soft close, nomore banging! Next I have to get the Washlet bidet upgrade. The toilet comes ready for this bidet and conceals the cord and hose. Just make sure you have an outlet nearby if you want the bidet since it is electronic. The only thing needed when installing this toilet is a wax ring. I used an extra thick reinforced wax ring which came with the bolts. If you are replacing a toilet you might not need bolts but definitely the wax ring. This is the best toilet I've ever used and way worth it for these features. Nomore constantly cleaning the toilet! Highly recommend to everyone.

[Rewarded Review] I'm in love with everything about this toilet

I have so many positive things to say about this toilet. First off, it's a space saver compared to the round bowl that I previously had so now my bathroom doesn't appear nearly as cramped. Secondly, flush power on this thing is perfect and doesn't typically require a second flushing. Living in a house full of boys, this is a very important feature to have. The flush is also much quieter than my previous toilet and my husband even mentioned that he didn't hear anyone flush the middle of the night as he normally does. Another great feature is that the toilet bowl is coated with garnish that is hard for particles to adhere to...another win! We are really happy with our new toilet!!

[Rewarded Review] Best toilet I’ve ever bought

I had watched a video on this Drake Toilet and so very impressed. We got this one to replace a really old one that wasted a lot of water. The video was spot on with their explanation why this was such a good toilet. The finish on the Drake is so pretty and glossy. The tank part you put anchored screws and tighten them then you put it on bottom toilet and tighten it to it. This makes it extra sturdy. The sound of the flushing water is quiet also. The way the water flushes in the bowl cleans all the way around the bowl leaving it perfectly clean. It comes with everything including the soft close seat but you do have to buy wax ring. I highly recommend it.

All different sizes - a surprising lack of quality control

The most unexpected lack of quality control. The distance from the mounting bolts to the front of the seat were all different for the three toilets we got: 13”, 14.5”, and 17”. We only noticed because the 17” did not give enough clearance for a shower door; we switched it with the 13” one. All three came in identically labelled boxes. Also, the 17” looks like it might be a 10” rough in and not 12”, but we didn’t measure it - it only seemed that way after we re-installed it and it sat a longer distance from the wall than expected. For a $400 toilet from such a well respect brand we were very surprised.
