Steam drips

Part 2: I cook a lot of pasta. The steam collects under the hood and drips into the pot. I constantly wipe the hood to remove vapor. If I don't stand over the stove, the water collects and the induction stovetop turns off as a safety feature.

Two cons

I've had this vent hood for one year over my induction stove. It keeps the odor and smoke out. However, it's close to my face when cooking and level drowns out all other sounds around. Level 3 sound carries into our living room. I wish it was quieter.

We purchased a range hood and we’re treated very good

I like Zephyr for style and ease of ordering parts.

I have installed many Zephyr hoods and have also ordered extra parts such as flu covers and extensions from them. I only wish that there was a large print reminder to purchase a damper while purchasing the products. I understand that there are too many options and, therefore, dampers do not automatically come with the product. I just wish they would suggest that purchase onto the customer as they are ordering. I always forget and my installation plan becomes temporarily thwarted (because I only install about one per year).

Doing the job and has the tray to collect the oil grease the range hood looking very fancy and has 2lights 2 fans and dont have to worry anymore with the annoying sound of smoke detector

I don’t recommend this range hood. Oil leaks outside the dripping tray. Contacted customer service but blaiming the installer no help I can get. Now I need to look for a new range hood. Wasted $500.

Exhaust Air Buffeting

The Blower in the 30" Zephyr Core Cyclone Under-Cabinet Range Hood performs ALMOST as well as expected. However, there is significant "blowback" on all 3 speeds at the left and right corners of the hood. It blows right in my face when cooking and it is not comfortable.

Just as advertised. Instructions a bit on the simple side but with the help of u-tube we got it done. Works well in pulling kitchen odors outside.

Quality control

One blower motor housing screw fell out into the fan after first use. All motor housing screws turned out to be loose.

Excellant Fan for the price

I bought this fan after doing extensive research on a number of different exhaust fans. I was replacing a Broan Microtek which we found in the house and was at least 17 years old (it was still working but was starting to show it's age). The Zephyr AK6500S fit the bill, based on reviews I wanted a fan which would utilize both vents equally rather than better on one side or another. I do agree with a number of the reviews which indicated the fan is difficult to install. I am fairly handy and can tell you the fan install is not a one person job, it is fairly heavy and since the motors are not removable during installation it makes for a difficult project. The fan arrived within the timeframe stated by Venting Direct. I will say even though the hood was new I'm not sure if the hood was a returned item as the rear vent closure was missing. I had to use some aluminum flashing and some duct tape to cover the rear vent. In addition, the internal electrical connection box does not have a side knockout so if using a rear electrical hookup you need to remove the electrical cover and attach the wires and leave loose in the fan (not an issue for me but would be better if all connections could be made within the box). The Venting Direct price was $200 better than my local guy who is usually very competitive (not this time). I will say it is fairly loud on the max setting but I really don't think it an issue since on the first two settings it does a great job of exhausting any smoke or odors and the light is extremely bright on the second setting. I also like the fact that the light can be operated separately from the fan.

Fantastic Investment!

I purchased four years ago when I was updating my kitchen. I went back and forth whether to cut a hole in my roof and add this extractor to my new kitchen or buy one with a charcoal filter. I am so hapy that I did. If there is any smell at all or the house smells stale, I just turn it on and out goes any smell. I made a couple of mistakes during our remodel but this was the best (other than my electrical under the counter lights) investment that I made. It is great and still going strong. My only con is that the light bulbs go out sooner than later, but I'll take it if I don't have a smelly house!!!

DON'T HESITATE AND BUY THIS HOOD

Two years ago, on a tight budget I finally updated my kitchen. I was very careful and researched everything. At the end when it was time to choose a hood, it took me a month. I kept on going back and forth whether to get a hood which recycled the air or a hood that I would need to do construction and have a hole put in my roof. Well, I chose this hood and had the construction done. To this date, this was the BEST choice I made. It is beautiful, powerful,and amazing. If my house or my kitchen smells in the least bit, I turn it on and the smell is gone. Cooking, I put it on low and you would never know that there was food being prepared in the kitchen. I love this extractor and will always buy this brand. It was the best money I spent on my kitchen

Venting excellent, but ....

Venting performance is excellent, but lights had to be changed to avoid very unpleasant shining into eyes caused by the shape of the incandescent bulbs. Physical depth is a problem. Wife keeps bumping her head on unit because it sticks out 5 or 6 inches more than the unit it replaced. If the AK2500 really has a depth 7 inches less, consider it.
