Great looking but crappy installation instructions

This hood looks great and seems to function fine. (Just installed, so haven't used it when cooking yet) The installation instructions online and in the box are very limited. The BIG problem was that the vent that comes in the box was made for a 9' ceiling, so when installed it was much too low. Way down in the instructions was a note that for an 8' ceiling (which is standard height) you should use their "Short Kit". I didn't see anything about that on their website or any of the online materials I could find. I didn't mind the extra $80, but it cost me a lot more to have my contractor take it down and re-install it. Not to mention having to replace the damaged crown molding and the time wasted waiting to get the kit. That said, now that that frustration has passed, it does look great and seems to function well. I can't wait to get the rest of my kitchen finished so I can use it.
