We finally had the Zline 30 inch island mount range hood installed yesterday. The look is amazing and this high quality vent hood works perfectly. We have the ventless version due to stove placement limitations in our kitchen which didn't allow for the typical island placement with traditional ductwork going through the ceiling. Truly a unique twist that works well in our kitchen.

Lights have gone out - loud fan

Worked fine but loud for 5 years. Lights started blinking and found this issue all over the Z line you tube channel. Replaced transformer and still have issues. Have not been able to reach customer service. Filled out an online form hoping someone contacts me.

Very satisfied with installation process and performance thus far

We researched and selected the Z-line range hood to replace ours, which had the light switches fail after 14 years. I think the Z-line push button light switches will hold up much better. The 3 speed exhaust fan seems able to provide the needed ventilation. Very satisfied with overall appearance. Z-line quickly replaced the first unit shipped when a manufacturing defect was found in the first unit. Overall, 4+ stars.

Item came with no manual, no screws and was missing the small grease cup, which installer completely missed as well. We only figured it out later. . It was the most nightmarish experience i ever had with best buy subcontractor- we have used this same sun for other BB purchases and never had this kind of experience.

This is an awesome Z-Line hood unit especially at the Wayfair purchase price. The first one I received had a metal rubbing of a fan blade, reached out to Z-line, sent a video explaining the situation. I was advised a new replacement was already on its way, in a blink of an eye. NO fuss at all. Not having an actual island in my kitchen, I installed it above my Bertazonni stove, away from the wall. The placement made the corner look bigger, very airy, and receive many compliments. I have seen many island hoods but this one actually has the controls on both sides of the unit, making it unique. The 4 lights pivot, allowing light to be were most needed. The motor is very powerful, and does the job it's intended to do. I ordered the matching crown molding for a finished professional look. Highly recommend this unit to everyone!

Looks great...when it works

Bought this in late 2019, but didn't install until mid 2020 due to remodel work going on. Worked fine for a few months, but then the lights wouldn't work. They would blink, then go out, never stay on. Zline reps have been very friendly and nice, but never solve my issue. I've been sent two light kits and a circuit board (which blew out on day one), but no resolution. Now I'm told they are looking into a solution and will get back to me. This has been going on for nearly two months, just send a new unit if that's what it takes! Check around and you will see "blinking lights" or "flashing lights" seems to be a common problem with this hood. A three year warranty sounds good, but wait until you try to get a repair...and then figure the problem will continue after the warranty is expired.

Unfortunately I can't say this range hood from ZLINE is a well thought out hood. I purchased one of them and it was not only dented in the shroud but the motor had a slight vibration. I contacted ZLINE and it took them 6 days to get back to me - how to address the motor vibration, but by then it was already too late and I had requested a replacement hood from Wayfair. The new hood came and there was no vibration in the motor but the denting in the shroud was even worse than the first one. It is the way they are made. During shipping, the weight of the motor can press up against the shroud (this is the curved stainless steel piece that is above the glass), and create press in dents. It's too bad, it's otherwise a beautiful range hood. I ended up getting my money back.

Great Product!

Exhaust hood arrived on time. Everything in the box was well packaged and everything arrived without damage. Watch videos as this will help. We installed this hood in a home that has never had one. Thankfully we had straight runs, decent access and no insulation to work around. Watch the videos, instructions are vague. The ceiling bracket has 2 little holes in the middle, these are to attach the stainless collar, make sure these are installed on the left and right, not front to back, the instructions do not explain this. We only used the 4 longer brackets, and threw the 4 shorter ones away. With an 8 foot ceiling the hood is 36 inches off the top of the stove. We are taller, and I didn't want it any shorter. We shortened the plastic accordion tube for in the collar, and then used rigid ducting for the rest of the application. VERY HAPPY with finally results.

DO NOT BUY A ZLINE PRODUCT!!!!!!!!

Purchased the Zline GL9009 from Home Depot. Less than 3 months after mounting it, the lights blink constantly like 4 strobe lights when turned on. After numerous calls we were told Zline would replace the part. However, we will have to pay someone to pull it down, replace the part, and remount it. What? Pay a $1,000 so we can just repeat the same in another 3 months? Even worse, Zline is completely aware of the issue after 100’s of complaints yet continue to knowingly sell a product that will in most cases fail. IS THIS THE TYPE OF COMPANY YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH? It’s not one i will ever give another penny too. Heed my warning or you two will be out the cost of the product, purchase of a new venta hood and installation, twice. By the way, the warranty will not help you.

RANGE HOOD IS DARN NEAR PERFECT - HAD IT 2 YEARS

We purchased and installed this range hood, ZLINE 36" Island Range Hood GL14i-36, about 22 months ago. We'd looked at MANY, so many, range hoods before making our decision to purchase this Z-Line model. We'd looked at many different units from many different manufacturers in many different price ranges in many different, but similar styles. We wanted an elegant look, excellent function (who cares how good it looks if it doesn't work - it has to do its job first and foremost) and easy cleaning. Additionally, I'm tall at 6' 4" so mounting it high enough so that the bottom edge would be above my sight line was an important feature to me, so that I could look at someone on the other side of the island without stooping. Therefore, the ability to mount this up to 36" above the stove top was also an important factor. Fortunately, there was a Range Hood Store near us, so we were able to go there and see their products (if you're not as lucky as we were to be nearby a store, know that everything we saw in the store was high quality and looked like the online pictures). We'd been concerned because of their excellent, very competitive prices that their products might be "cheap" in quality, look or construction WE FOUND OUT THOSE WORRIES WERE UNFOUNDED, so you can order online with confidence even if you have no nearby store to visit in person. Additionally, my wife worried that keeping it clean would be an issue, partly because of the glass portion of this hood. Well, it's pretty darn easy to keep clean and the dishwasher safe filter is nice too. Some people's reviews say that it is loud when in use . . . and, when it's on the highest setting, 4, it is kind of loud, BUT we've found it to be MUCH QUIETER than those BRAND X units in use by some of our friends over their islands. Further, our very quiet dishwasher is certainly louder than this hood, it's just not at ear height like our range hood, which I think may make seem folks think it's louder than it is. One last thing is the fact that there's a set of control buttons on each side of unit and I remember thinking, "There's no need for the duplicate set of buttons, I'll only use the ones on the same side as the stove top control knobs." But, now I cannot tell you just how handy it is to have the duplicate set of controls as we use them far more often than I would have ever thought. So, after almost 2 years we're still happy and we wanted to write this review, so you know you can order with confidence.

The range hood is quite nice and seemingly substantial. But the instructions are severely lacking, since they are rather generic. The unit I bought contained a part (a flange/gasket) that was not described in the instructions, for example. And the parts described in the instructions aren't defined (what's the transition piece?). The package of screws and nuts, etc., contained some pieces of questionable value, such as plastic anchors. When I called for help about it (a big plus is that there is a phone number one can all), I was told it was for anchoring the unit in drywall. But doing so doesn't seem like a good idea; I wouldn't want to hang a 50-plus-pound device from screws anchored into drywall. Also, the instructions say to use a screwable clamp to hold the 6-inch hose above the fan motor, but it isn't included. When I talked to a company help person, I was told I needed to go out and buy one myself. All the other parts are included, so why isn't a cheap clamp included? As it turned out, this model didn't even need a clamp, though I used some aluminum duct tape to make sure it didn't become dislodged. Even so, this is another example of bad instructions and (perhaps)a help person who didn't know what was going on.
