Not as expected

I received the Bernette b38 in a timely manner, in its original box. However, the 'new' machine was obviously previously opened. There was added items that are not included in a true Bernette box: a box of machine embroidery threads (it is NOT an embroidery machine), a rotary cutter in loose packaging (it fell off the cutter when I picked it up) and a package of plastic quilting templates (??). I am worried it is either refurbished or was a floor model. The electric plug is bent and could not have happened in an unopened box. Not at all what I was expecting!!

I’m impressed

My first Bernette Machine and I thought hard about buying the B38 or B77 or B 79. I still want the B79. I live my B38 to bits and more so daily. I like that it incorporates archaic sewing machine features in the design. Meaning I can sew very slowly to pay attention to completing details in my project. I like that there is still a hand wheel and you can still lift the presser foot with your hand. If I had to request any additional add ins it will be the inbuilt walking foot like the B77 or B79. The knee lever and the Heel control on the Motor and an extension table that groves in like the detachable box. Oh and the B 38 is very quiet compared to other sewing machine and that is a great given/ gift for me.

Bernette B38

Excellent service and speedy delivery. Bernette B38 is a super machine and very sturdy. Having downsized from top of the range Bernina was a bit dubious but certainly not disappointed in machine.

Absolutely in love with my new sewing machine - it’s so much quieter than the basic sewing machine I had before, the needle threader is so convenient, and the one step buttonhole is making my life so much easier! The machine is very easy to use and there are plenty of demonstrations videos on YouTube to get started as well. Overall the machine does a fabulous job and I hope it lasts me a long time.

Auto thread cutter is great

The machine was a little more than I wanted to spend but the best deal I could find - most auto thread cutters are much more expensive. The hard case and extension table are also included, it is so quiet compared to my old machine - I would definitely recommend this machine.

Bought this as a second machine as my other one needs a service and as I sew every day, need a spare. Nice little machine, compact, sews lovely, very quiet, and overall, very pleased with it.
