A good tent, with limitations
With three doors and plenty of windows, all of which open and close, and plenty of room inside for pretty much anything, this is almost a perfect tent, either for one person living alone with tables, chairs, and a cot for a bed (me!), or a larger number of people wanting to get away for a weekend of so.
Too many doors...
well first of all it comes with three doors which is pointless since its not a multi- room tent. Also it's claims to be a full season tent, yet it has a very large netted top and back wall so cold air has no problem coming in through it. It has 4 poles, that only go front to back so it doesnt stand up on its own unless you stake down the corners. the zipper is snag proof and so far it kept the rain out, so thats good.
great tent
I lived in this sucker from mid August till late January in upstate New York. fixed with new poles my friend had, after snow collapsed it. just stayed there recently. still standing, still waterproof! great tent!
Disappointed with Tent Quality
I purchased this tent with high hopes, but unfortunately, it didn't hold up at all. While setting it up, one of the rods splintered, and just a few hours after being pitched, it completely broke. I ended up having to use duct tape to keep the tent standing for the rest of our trip, which was far from ideal.
I was very satisfied with this purchase. it is very spacious with plenty of ventilation. What I really enjoyed was having three exit doors to choose from. it was easy to assemble and felt very durable. The best thing I loved about this product was the price. $100.00 compared to $180.00 on Amazon for the exact same tent.
The main disappointment over this "such a deal" tent is the zippers fr the entrance. Cheap zippers caused a lot of frustration trying to realign them out of the fabric. Metal zipper tabs are so cheap they broke in half. Eventually they caused the zipper to split and now have rendered tent unusable on our 2nd day of camping. 5 more to go with a piece of trash tent. Not recommended!
Great tent. Plenty of room and breathes well during the summer heat. Easy setup with the color bands on the poles. The clip feature makes for quick and easy setup as well. Took maybe 20 minutes from bag to full setup on the first try.
Do not buy
Bought this tent for a two night camping trip. Was impossible for only one person to set up. The poles are cheap and thin. The rain fly was hard to get put together. The strings were tangled right out of the box and took 45 minutes just to untangle. No real instructions on how to assemble the rain fly. The entire tent collapsed as soon as a gust of wind came. The poles splintered and had to be duct taped just to last through 1 more night. Do not buy this tent. It’s only $100 for a reason!!
Fabric dry rotted in less than 6 months
I bought this because my friend had bought one and he said it was great but after using it for a short period of time and went to set it up again the panels on the side were just ripping from dry rot.
didnt work
it could not stand strong on open place with light force of wind. we bought the stakes which are bigger than provided and used it to hold the tent. the small stakes are of no use. This can be used only in closed spaces.
Terrible and cold
How is noone talking about the fact that this tent is 2/3 mesh windows without the ability to close it? We spent 1 night (should have been 3) in this tent with the cover on and we froze, longest night of my life. It's inconceivable that the whole back of the tent is exposed to air. We spent the day in the mountains, beautiful 85 degree day and the temp dropped 40 degrees overnight and we froze. Teeth chattering, takes hours in heat kindof froze. The tent should have the ability to zip the windows closed from the inside. Completley unacceptable in everyway. Do NOT Buy. Save yourself and your family.
Worked in a pinch
My beloved Kelty tent of 14 years had suddenly had enough, and we were left with no choice but to run out and buy a tent at WalMart after already starting to set up camp. This was the only tent they had at the store that was of the size I needed.
You get what you pay for
It’s a $99 tent. It’s plenty big and serves its purpose. Mine had a hole in the floor of the tent right out of the box, but it wasn’t a huge issue. It leaked from the top a little but the rain was torrential one night. Setup for the tent itself is easy enough but the rain fly was almost impossible, especially alone. The directions are terrible and the QR code takes you to a video that isn’t any better. If you’ve never used guy lines before, make sure to YouTube it first because there are zero instructions for those. Zippers were a pain because it’s impossible to tell where they are once zipped, so I’ll probably be using bright paracord on those. No idea how I’ll compress it back into the carrying case. I’ll probably stick to Coleman in the future, but this tent is a solid three for size and value.
Not impressed
This tent has a nice open space. Big enough for 2 very large queen sized mattresses or one with room for everything we need to be in. However, We used it twice and the poles broke. The mesh isnt going to hold up long term either. We bought this to replace a tent that we have used for a decade. No we are right back in our old tent!
Check your tent before your trip
we made the mistake of picking up our tent the day ofour trip. the bag was torn. they let us know it was the last one of its kind in store. the next option was 80$ more. when we got to the beach we noticed 4 stakes were missing and the inside of thetent was dirty. it was clear this tent was used before. im talking dirty Kleenex and Qtips in the inner pockets dirty. whatever all in all its a great sized tent for a family of 4. just annoyed we purchased it online and still got a used tent with a ripped package for full price.
tent
no instructions or adequate pictures to assemble tent. The stakes are not very good so i had to order sturdier ones. The side doors aren't the easiest to use.
Poles Break
I have used it three times and three poles have broken in winds. One has gotten replaced within warranty. One pole had ripped the rainfly. This tent is not designed for winter use, it is only designed for summer use it has a completely netting open top roof under the fly.
DONT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY!!!!
DONT BUY THIS TENT. As the tent was being put up, it looked very flimsy. As the wind started to blow, %26 it began to rain, THE ENTIRE TENT COLLAPSED!!!! Literally fell apart on us. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I know they don’t make tents like they used to but this is ridiculous! I paid $100 on a limited budget, it was like throwing money away. I felt Ozark was a good company, APPARENTLY NOT. BUT for this tent to totally fall to the ground was shocking. Someone could have been seriously hurt! It was myself, my grandson %26 my dog. I’m afraid to ever trust this company again!!!
Better than expected
Needed a new tent quickly for a spur of the moment weekend thing. Figured this would do the trick and for the price, it could be replaced when we found something we really liked. However, the weather turned quickly and we found ourselves hauling everything into the tent to escape the downpour. This tent kept the rain out and there was room enough for our family of three and our dog to hang out and play games and not be bent over when standing up. Because of the mesh top, it didn’t hold heat as well as I’d have liked which was to be expected of a summer style tent so no complaints there. Easy up and easy down. Ignored the instructions for the most part as we are experienced enough with tents to figure it out quickly without the “yellow goes here” (which was actually not yellow at all) but I will say it takes two people to get it up easily as it doesn’t stay upright without a second person to hold one side while you get the other poles in. All in all it was a surprisingly good tent for the money!
about 12'x7' of usable space
i don't know why the description now states 6x8, not how it was described when i decided to get it. I believe t description said 14x8 when i picked it out, so that is the tent i am reviewing. the walls slant, so there is a considerable amount of space that isn't really usable for us, we are both 6 ft tall, but the center of the tent is plenty tall enough. at the front and back wall it is approximately 5. ft 8 inches. we put a queen size cot in the tent and just barely have room to walk past it...we couldn't push it against the wall because of rain, all tents will wick water in if anything is touching the side when it is wet. we put a tarp over most of the tent to help with that, but our tarp wasn't big enough, we will need another one probably get 14x 20 or 24 if we can find it...12x16 isn't big enough. the 3 doors is nice, don't like the back window has to be closed and opened from the outside. we got this for family who have 4 children, between 1 and 7 years old, it will give them enough room to put mom and dad in the middle, babies on one side and girls on other side. babies are in playpens, girls on full size mattress or quilts on floor. they will have to keep clothes etc. in vehicle because I don't think they will have room in tent.
