[Rewarded Review] Great fridge with awesome features!
Our fridge was starting to have ice issues so we were looking into replacements. We are very happy with this product! This fridge is very big and spacious. The adaptability of the shelves is very nice for when we have different size food drinks in there. We especially love that the water filter is in the door rather than having to reach into the back of the fridge around food. Also, the craft ice is amazing! We have always used molds for ice spheres for our adult beverages and this was an awesome feature to have! Only negative for us was that there are no door handles but once you get used to it, it is very easy to open close. Highly recommended!
[Rewarded Review] Great recommendation for most people
This fridge has lots of pros that I think make up for a few cons. It is a great fridge and honestly very easy to recommend. It doesn’t have some of the fancy bells and whistles although it crushes the basics and has actually useful extras.
[Rewarded Review] Great fridge with a few exceptions…
Overall very quiet, smoorh, and efficient. The LG thin app fo control the fridge is amazing and easy to use. The fridge is very well-lit and the cooling technology works great. The glass screen and quick access door are pretty cool and actually is more useful and less gimmecky than i thought. Best parts of fridge by far are the 4 different tyles of craft ice! Absolute game changer! Complaints: lack of shelf adjustability and height for taller items. Lack of door handles. While this gives a beautiful and sleek look, it feels somewhat unnatural and takes some getting used to, especially for smaller people in the house. Lastly, this thing is a fingerprint magnet due to design! I purchased extended warranties just in case as this model has the linear compressor with the class-action lawsuit. Overall lots of fridge for price point right now considering the fridge capacity and the long list of great features.
[Rewarded Review] Cooling Does Not Work!
We are on our second unit. First one was delivered and looked great. However, after having the unit for a few days, we were getting stomach issues. Fridge was set to 36 and freezer to 0. My wife thought the food felt warm. We bought two thermometers and placed inside fridge. They both read 46! Dangerous for food and it was all spoiling while the fridge told us all was good. Their diagnostic software showed all was good too. Called Best Buy and they were trying to force us to have a repair done since it was after 20 days. I said no way was I accepting a DOA fridge. They replaced it. New one showed up and was setup. Setup team did a much better job this time. We thought we were good. The control panel on this one was functioning which made us realize the previous one was bad. Two weeks into the new fridge and the thermometer shows it is holding at 42 even if we set the fridge to 33 and it thinks it is 33. Ice melts in the ice maker and won't dispense. We've had it. We will be exchanging this for a Samsung. We are disappointed. It is a beautiful fridge, but extremely dangerous if it cannot detect a 9 degree variance in temperature and keeps you food in the spoilage zone. Never rely on your fridge to tell you the temp. Always manually verify it. Pictures show the 45 degree milk temp coming out of the "33 degree" fridge and the remote temperature monitor showing 42 degrees. Absolutely dangerous for your family. If you own this unit, verify the temps!
[Rewarded Review] Very nice appliance
This appliance is a major upgrade to the Al black side by side I had. It is very spacious and seems to fit better with a modernized home. I am happy to have 4 types of ice for when I’m hosting. I just wish that the fridge came with a scooonfirnthe ice inside the freezer buckets, and was a little more smart, for similar pricing you can get the competitors machine that has built in tablet. I wish I could at least control the light with a phone rather than having to stand up at the fridge and knock. Also the ice in the water dispenser seems to get stuck very often for a brand new machine and the ice that comes out into the freeze buckets seem to take forever to make. Small complaints for a great product but also nussiances that they could easily revolve for a 3k product
water pressure
We bought this refrigerator in October and have been battling with LG ever since. I want to love it. The different ice cubes are really fun, it is aesthetically very beautiful, and there is plenty of space in the refrigerator and the freezer. The only downside is the flow of the water coming out of the water dispenser is very slow. We consistently get only 4 ounces in 8 seconds. It is advertised as getting twice that much. We bought a fridge with a water dispense so we could use it. This one takes FOREVER to fill a glass of water. I have been back and forth with LG for months now trying to solve the solution. They have sent multiple technicians out who have all said there is nothing wrong with the refrigerator and told me that what is coming out is better than nothing and that they have seen worse. The water pressure feeding the refrigerator is 45-50 which is within the published normal range. If I had known this would be how the refrigerator actually functions I would never have bought it. Also after my extensive experience with LG customer service we will never be buying any LG product in the future. If you buy this refrigerator please purchase the store warranty so you can return it when it doesn't work as advertised.
[Rewarded Review] Slow ice maker
Love the size and “refrigerator” functions..would give it a 5 star if that’s all I was rating, but I am an ICE man and our family use a lot of ice. The main reason I baught this product was its ice making capabilities, or at least I thought so….. I have tried everything and the ice maker simply can not keep up to any refrigerator I have ever owned. May be a sensor problem and will be having Best Buy look into it (have the warranties). The craft ice works as described, but the regular door ice maker simply does not refill properly. If a lack of constant ice flow is not a problem for you, I would highly recommend this product. We are a family of three, so it’s not like we keep that ice maker going constantly……
[Rewarded Review] LG French door Refrigerator w/craft ice
We opted for the standard depth vs counter depth to replace our old standard depth refrigerator. Same foot print but has 5 Cu. ft more space. We are extremely impressed with the room inside, it's like we don't have enough food to fill it now, but it will fill up quickly over the holidays. We love the craft ice and mini cubes. We go thru a lot of ice and having 3 different type works perfect. Plenty of freezer space so now the garage refrigerator isn't so packed. Then you have the second door on the right door, works great for getting everyday used things with out opening the whole door. The knock feature which lights up to let you see the contents with out opening is nice. It does stick out past counter but we have a large enough kitchen that it is not a problem, for a smaller kitchen i would recommend the counter depth version. The LG thin-Q app is a nice feature that lets you keep tabs on the refrigerator and to set some settings. Over all we are very impressed with this purchase.
[Rewarded Review] FANTASTIC!!!!!!
The LG 31 cu. ft. Standard-Depth MAX French Door Refrigerator w/Mirrored Instaview & 4 types of ice, Print Proof Stainless Steel arrived this week. IT IS HUGE. Before purchasing this refrigerator, you need to be sure you measure and that this width and depth will fit your space, again this fridge is HUGE.
[Rewarded Review] Beautiful and packed full of features.
My old refrigerator was only a few years old, but storage space was lacking. I was looking for more freezer space and this LG fridge has it. There is one large drawer, and 2 smaller drawers within it. The best part? 4 - yes 4 - different kinds of ice. The freezer stores the craft ice, consiting of mini cubes and cocktail style spheres meant to keep yoir drinks from being watered down. The fridge door contains your more traditional cubes and crushed ice options. Something worth mentioning, which is a huge improvement from my previous fridge, is that the ice maker dispenses ice quickly without having to stand there as if the ice was stuck in the dispenser. As far as a the fridge goes, there are 3 drawers, 2 crispers and one long drawer at the bottom that i use as a white wine drawer. The temperature controls are located inside the fridge and are digital. I did remove the right upper shelf to allow storage of tall juice bottles or milk jugs. The mirrored door is a great feature and allows you to open just the front door of the fridge to wuickly grab a water or soda, while not allowing all of the cold air to escape. The LG ThinQ app is great for this fridge, it will run diagnostic tests, and allows you to download updates and features to customize your fridge. The diagnostic test that I ran after findijg frost inside of my freezer helped me realize that I wasnt closing the freezer door all the way even though i thought i was, allowing the temperature to drop.
[Rewarded Review] The most amazing fridge ever!
First impression is the sleekness of this fridge. Clean aesthetics on all sides of the fridge. No protruding handles add to the sleek design. The fridge is very easy to open so don't let the handle less design put you off, it looks cool. Inside is brightly lit with led lighting. Large drawers glide effortlessly and are spacious. Water filter located on the bottom left door, hidden away nicely. Water tastes amazing and the ice this fridge makes is outstanding! We are a big water family and this is gourmet water! I prefer the large round craft ice and my kids like the tinier ice that comes from the door. Two ice bins on the left side of the freezer house the two craft ices. The round and the smallish square ice.
[Rewarded Review] Nice refrigerator
LG 31 cu. ft. Standard depth French door refrigerator
[Rewarded Review] Excellent depth to store large items, runs quiet, makes tons of ice
We absolutely love this fridge! It is spacious, runs quiet, makes tons of ice, and has smart capabilities. The standard-depth doesn’t stand out much in the kitchen and helps with large items like pizza boxes. We were able to store two large pizza boxes without trouble. Our favorite function that we didn’t have before is the craft-ice capability. It makes four kinds of ice: large cubes, smaller cubes, crushed ice, and golf ball sized ice-cubes (round shape). The latter melts slowly in drinks so you can enjoy your drink without diluting it with water. It is especially great to use with hard liquors, but also goes nicely with juice, ice-tea, and water. The doors don't have handle bars and instead have designated grooves at the top and the bottom, which takes some getting used to. The bottom one works well with kids who can use it to open the doors easily, but for someone tall, it would need a hunching down, so the top groove may be a better option for adults. The instaview door gives you a chance to look inside without opening the doors, and you can also open only the glass instaview door to grab something quickly (coffee creamer, milk, etc.) which makes your routine much more convenient. In the bottom freezer, there are three layers of storage: bottom divided bucket, flat drawer, and ice storage with room for other items. It helps with categorizing; for example, meats in the bottom, frozen veggies/fruits in the middle drawer, and ice-cream and desserts in the ice drawer. The LG app sends you notifications when a door is left open, and has other useful information such as the temperature levels, the ice storage, filter life left, and water and energy usage. Overall, this is a great family fridge with every detail planned for your convenience.
[Rewarded Review] Looks Great, Some minor inconveniences.
Overall a very nice refrigerator. The four different types of ice are a very nice feature, especially the craft ice. The retractable shelf is also a very nice feature. Tons of space. The mirror door looks great, But Is constantly covered in fingerprints. Sort of defeats the purpose of having fingerprint proof stainless steel. The no handles Is a nice look but makes it difficult to open when your hand are full. This takes some getting used to...Instead of hooking a couple fingers around the handle to pull it open, if your hands are full you have to put everything down on the counter, to comfortably open the door. With the main doors fully open Some items can only be reached by closing the main doors and then opening the front door in door, Which also is not incredibly convenient.
[Rewarded Review] Nice frig with nice features
Overall I like this LG French Door Refrigerator and would recommend it to someone but when I compare it to my previous frig, it will take some getting used to. To open the two top refrigerator doors you have to grab them by the bottom or (after figuring it out a few days later) you can grab it from the top which elevated my rating from a 3 star to a 4 star. Being 6' 1", opening the doors from the bottom was not working for me but in any event I am not able to open these doors with anything in my hands, like a gallon of milk or something. I had no problems opening the doors on my previous frig even with something in my hands due to the opening running down the center of the frig. The other reason for my rating is that it states that it has PrintProof stainless steel and I don't find this to be true as seen in my photos. And the mirrored instaview door is definitely not print proof. I'm a big believer in less is more so I don't really care for the fact that it makes 4 different types of ice. Its more of a conversation starter and it takes up a lot of room in the freezer. The outer instaview door on mine is not making 100% contact as I can see light coming through where the gasket meets the second inner door. I like that it has a light that is activated by motion so when you walk by it it turns on. Other than that its a nice frig.
[Rewarded Review] Ice, Ice Baby
My previous refrigerator had difficulties making ice for the longest time (non-LG). It also did not like being on a GFI circuit breaker. Their support people said (their) refrigerators aren't designed to be on a GFI (read 'tough'). My previous refrigerator was a 27cu ft unit, this LG is 31cu ft and the additional space is quite noticeable. Home Depot arranged for the delivery and installation, the team they sent were very efficient, in and out in about 10 minutes. They hooked up the water line, leveled the refrigerator, and removed most of the packing tape (there are a lot of parts taped in place, not all easily seen) and removed my old unit. Once they left I ran several gallons of water throught the in door water dispenser (as the instructions advised). The water inside the fridge is filtered and goes throught a UV water cleaner. The neatest feature, besides the huge space, is the ice maker that can make 4 types of ice (3 at a time). The in door ice dispenser dispenses a medium sized cube. The very clever ice maker also delivers two other ice types to two removable bins at the top of the freezer area. If you want ice made faster (Ice Plus), the app can speed up delivery for a 24hr window. The LG ThinQ app is an app that is common to all LG appliances. For this refrigerator it's quite comprehensive. It monitors refrigerator/freezer temps, door open warnings, filter replacement, ice maker delivery status (working/full) for each bin. It also offers energy usage information and door open/close info. It has features to interface with a smart grid (if your utility participates (few do)). It has a "peak time" usage feature that SHOULD be user definable -- minus one star. The primary purpose for this is to prevent the refrigerator from going into a defrost cycle during peak usage hours. From looking at the energy usage so far, this refrigerator is more efficient than my previous refrigerator (that was 6 yrs old).
