Thin and flimsy

This mattress is nowhere close to 8 inches thick. It is thin, flimsy and uncomfortable. We are constantly pulling it up in the back as it sags. You can feel the futon frame under you. Don't waste your money.

Poor quality and non-returnable if not satisfied.

This product is of poor quality for the price. It is thin and flimsy. We waited a day or two to see if it would expand and be more comfortable before making the decision to return it. Then we were told that unless we could fit it back into the original packaging (impossible after expansion), we could not return it. This was not clearly communicated at the time of purchase. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Softest futon I've felt

I was surprised at how soft and comfortable the mattress was considering prior futon's we've purchased were typically rather firm. The mattress' external material is also soft and inside is comprised of what appears to be unrefined cotton. Overall very pleased!

Futon mattress

I was very satisfied with this mattress. Very good quality. The shipment was right on time and the price was the best I found any where!

Black futon mattress

The mattress fit perfect on our frame and it extremely comfortable to sleep on. We are so glad we finally decided to keep it and move it to our new space!

There should be a description but there isn't.

Still haven't checked the quality of the mattress i received considering i expected a full futon an got just a mattress.. On top of that, its a color i would have opted out of if i had known what i was getting.. Quite disappointed. If i had known what was coming, i would've canceled the order completely. But whatever, im not one to throw a fit about something this stupid. Just gonna have to find a actual futon setup without the mattress...

No savings whatsoever.

Didn't fit oh, and it would cost more to return than it was to purchase. I highly suggest review of the return policy before purchase or purchase elsewhere.

I really have to say that the first night sleeping on the futon and mattress was pretty comfortable. The quality of the material of the mattress is really good. I would definitely recommend this purchase.

THE BEST for the money- COMFORTABLE & Durable!

I did a lot of research about futon mattresses after a neighbor gave me a beautiful all hardwood futon frame. I looked everywhere from WalMart (the worst-- don't buy that!!!) to a local futon shop (not much better but cost $250)---- and ended ordering this b/c the size/thickness/construction/price and free shipping were hard to beat. My grown daughters have slept on it several times and swear it's the best sleep they've had in months. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

nice and thick

I really like overstock.com. its so convenient to shop online and over a certain amount shipping is free...the product I bought was a fouton and I absolutely love it! I would recommend this site to relatives and friends. I especially liked the help I recieved by online chat. It was very helpful and quick to offer assistance.

Great!

After reading the reviews, I went with the 8 inch mattress because I wanted to be sure there was enough padding. It arrived in a box, sealed in plastic, and vacuum packed. I unrolled it right onto my futon frame with no problem. There was a slight chemically smell as some reviewers described, but it dissipated within an hour. I left it for 48 hours to fluff as per the instructions and it sprang up to about 7 inches. Again, reviewers said that it didn't fluff to the full height of the advertised specs and this is accurate. Then again, I didn't do anything to promote that; I just unrolled it and left it alone. As far as comfort goes, it's so much more comfortable than my previous mattress. I can't feel any of the frame beneath it. After a long nap, I woke up refreshed. Generally, this mattress will be used a few times a year for company and likely will double as a plush dog bed the rest of the time. I think it was a great buy.

Great mattress

Mattress came very quickly. We were amazed at how compact the box was, but as promised, the mattress expanded nicely over the next 24-48 hours. Initial smell was noticeable, but not overwhelming. My parents (in their 60's) slept on it two days after it arrived and they were quite pleased. Definitely happy with it so far.

Excellent

I bought it for my full size bed, not for futon. It is so comfortable that I could not wake up in the first several mornings. My previous matress was made of foam, which always waked me up in the middle of night because heat generated had no where to go, so it became too hot. This mattress is exactly the type of mattress that I am looking for: cotton to let heat and moisture go through, fibre to give support of the shape. The cover is also good. I love it and wish there is also such mattress for queen size bed.
