Cast iron is King
Love the cast iron tubs wanted to give this shower base a whirl. Wasn’t disappointed! Plumber didn’t complain all that much!
Very satisfied homeowner
Exactly what was ordered. I would order another if needed.
This is the third Kohler shower base I have purchased, and am so very please with each and every one of them. My latest one came in perfect condition, was delivered with care, and is exactly as described. It is perfect.
Beautiful finish and all around great looking piece. Nothing else compares to cast iron -heavy and pricey but worth it.
Open and covered in dirt
Came delivered open and filthy. Had to spend an hour cleaning it!
High quality. It is the best shower pan made on the planet. Kohler cast iron/porcelain last forever.
The item comes with some off-white/light grey striping. The image does not show that clearly, and I am afraid it will show stains after a while and be hard to clean. I bought a grey base so that it didn't show everything... So much for that idea. Time will tell now.
Solid shower base with some drawbacks
This is a solid shower base that will probably outlast the house that we’ve installed it in, and so far, it cleans really well. My only issue is that there are fewer options for shower doors unless you want to drill into the cast iron which is something I’m not willing to risk. It would be great if they could make this model with the tile flange going all the way around so you could build a custom curb. Not only would this give you something to drill into without any risk of damaging an expensive shower base, but you could also raise the height of the curb so you could use a shower curtain without having it drag the bottom. I’d love to see a larger version of this base as well. Something like a 4’x6’ cast iron base would be nice. The current size is fine for the house we have now, but I would definitely want something bigger when we start to build our forever home in a few years, and I’d really hate to give up the durability and longevity of cast iron in order to get a bigger shower. Just throwing some suggestions out there in case anyone at Kohler is paying attention.
This shower pan is beautiful and very well made. It was shipped on a pallet with a protective wood frame and arrived perfect. Three things to know up front: 1 - it's stated weight was 240 lbs for the 60x36. 2 - It has a "shallow" depth so if you are planning on using a shower curtain just be sure it has magnets. 3 - the lip around the 3 sides is not to tall for tile so be sure it works for your liking.
Great shower base. Heavy, but solid unit
Looks great

Our shower base has a defect on the floor near the drain. We like the style, but it’s too bad that the quality control at Kohler wasn’t better.

The shower base was very well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. Being cast iron it is very heavy with absolutely no chance of it flexing. It looks great installed and I’m sure that it will last a lifetime.
Perfect fit for our upstairs bathroom remodel.
Solid as a rock
I renovated my guest bathroom and was leaning toward a more economical job, but decided not to skimp. Kohler cast iron is the way to go (if you’re going to shower pan route). It’s rock solid and worth the price (ever stand in a shower made of some fiberglass/composite material? I’m willing to bet you felt that flex. Maybe the only downside is its weight. My bathroom was completely gutted and it was work pre-setting it, pulling it out, then placing it back in. Luckily, I’m a big guy and so is my brother. If you’re normal size, you may need a third guy.
Beats a tile shower floor hands down anytime!
We have a basement under our shower and I didn't want to risk any leakage/grout issues with a tile floor. So we went with this Kohler cast iron. It is rock solid and not going anywhere. It's been down for 3 years now and I still love it as much as the day it went in. If we ever build another house, this will be going into it!! Thank you Kohler.

Wonderful sturdy shower base puts acrylic to shame! Very heavy and solid! Looks great with the tiled shower surround.
The bathroom is still a work in process but this shower base is the foundation. It’s heavy and solid, no chance of this flexing like fiberglassplastic. There’s a slight texture under your feet. Can’t wait to take the first shower!
Stunning and timeless
Installed about a year ago and it works so well. Always feels solid. Easy to clean. enameled cast iron is the best option
Heavy duty Kohler shower base. Wayfair delivery team was very good - prompt and good. Highly recommend.
