The Dehumidifier BROKE after 6 months of own it.

I purchased the Dehumidifier in May of 2024 and by early December of 2024 it BROKE. I noticed within three months of using the Dehumidifier it began making a clacking sound, to stop the sound from continuing I would turn off the machine, wait a while and then turn the machine back on, and the clacking sound would stop. As the months progressed the machine continued making the clacking sound louder. In early December the clacking sound became extremely loud and the Dehumidifier was losing pieces of the fan, which I could see through the top of the machine venting holes design. I called GE and the Dehumidifier was still under the 1 year warranty. I strongly recommended if you are planning to purchase this machine to purchase the extended warranty in case the machine brakes down after the year. I am truly disappointed with the product, as I trusted the GE name and quality it is known for and to witness how this machine broke down a little after 6 months of own it, SAD…

Drainage Hose Issue

Only negative is that when using a hose to continuously drain into a sump pump it has to be directly on top to drain straight down. It would not work on the ground or elevated next to the sump pump. Works for now but will be in the way as we finish the basement

All the features we needed

Great product for the price. I recommend it over some of the others. Our old one only lasted 15 months.

Easy installation

Easy to install, and works well with our existing sump pump. Wish the included hose was just a little longer.

Best Humidifier

Seems to be working great. I like the Smart Dry option. We have had other GE dehumidifiers in the past and they lasted a very long time.

Good unit

Good unit. Did have to claim warranty replacement, but warranty was honored and am back on the road.

Great Product

This dehumidifier is great!! I’ve had it for about 3 weeks and is in my living room, I did not realize how much moisture was in the room. I keep the house @ 67. Using this until I can get one put in the attic

Works great, I’d buy it again

So far so good. I got this after a small one was not cutting it. This thing fills up once a day, there’s that much humidity in my house!

Fantastic dehumidifier for a 1280 square ft house.

It's Awesome. My basement was at 80% according to my old dehumidifier that I think was broken. This new dehumidifier has my basement down to 45%. So it's working Great!

One of the best I have used

It does the serious job of keeping my basement dry during summer even when humidity is 90 % plus for most part of the day !! It has lot of smart features and works really well .

Dehumidifier that works.

Setup took less than 10 minutes. It took a moment to figure out the smart feature but once I understood that the number I was seeing was the current measured humidity I had everything down. I'm emptying the tank when it gets full and it comes out of the machine easily and pours without a mess.
