This Panasonic bathroom exhaust fan is remarkably quiet and efficient, and it was very easy to install during a remodeling project. The smaller exhaust fan it replaced was so noisy that its sound filled the rooms next to, and directly above, the bathroom. This new Panasonic exhaust fan can barely be heard within 3 feet.

I had my husband install this as it dealt with power. Let’s start off with the sleek design, I can honestly say that it’s not like the old bulky bathroom vent fans. I love how it’s not noisy and allows good airflow to remove steam fairly rapidly; hot shower girl here. I do love Panasonic and recommend this vent fan for your wet room.

So when I chose this particular fan....I had to hurry so I didn't miss out on testing this and picked this that was a tad too big than the size we had. Luckily hubby is a great handyman and was able to get this one to fit and work...so installation was a little trickybut thats my fault for picking the wrong size, not the fault of the product or company itself. It is such a huge upgrade from the old nasty one we used to have and it works! I can take a hot steamy shower and when I get out the mirrors aren't completely fogged over and everything isn't damp from the steam. The fan isn't obnoxiously loud either and has a low, soft, almost soothing/relaxing sound....like a white noise machine. The design is super modern to go with the rest of our bathroom appliances and decor. I'm so glad I was able to get the chance to test this and definitely recommend to anyone looking to update their fan.

Panasonic vent fans are the best. They pull lots of air and are very quiet. It has 3 settings and easy retrofits with the folding bracket. Very clever design and goes together perfect making installation super easy. Design of cover is made larger to cover the original opening which was perfect for my installation due to original hole was not even and this covered up without having to repair sheetrock in old house.

Great exhaust fan. The performance is really good with a low noise level. I like the simple design and the fact that it is energy efficient. The installation was quick and easy.

This bathroom fan is great. Installation instructions were easily readable and weren't too hard to figure out. After installation, we started it up with very little noise. Great air flow throughout the bathroom now. Sleek design really makes the bathroom pop. Haven't gotten a bill yet to find out just how energy efficient it truly is.

I just moved and had to renovate four stories of my house and redo my bathrooms on each floor. This Panasonic bathroom ceiling fan/ventilation came at the perfect time. I like how it's supposed to be energy saving, which is going to be great for my electricity. But I also like that it's much quieter than my old bathroom ceiling fans. My old fans were SO unnecessarily loud that I hated having them on for too long. This was kind of heavy too at 10-11 lbs but I think it was expected for what it is. Didn't really matter that much since it gets installed anyway and isn't like an item I would need to carry on a daily basis, etc. It was easy to install for my dad who's super handy and worked in the construction sector. I like that the instructions were very clear and it even listed out the tools and supplies needed for installation on the box so we can be prepared.

The installation was easy and quick! You can barely hear the exhaust running while you’re in the bathroom. I cannot wait to see how this affects my electric bill compared to the older style exhaust we had. I love the sleek yet simple design also!

Failed Florida Code Inspection

This fan can only accept a 4" or 3" exhaust hose. After spending $450 to have the roof vent and exhaust duct installed, the inspector failed the fan because the minimum duct/hose size (5" in my case) is based on the max CFM rating (110cfm in my case) regardless of where you set the CFM switch (50/80/110). 2020 Florida Building Code, Residential, 7th Edition, Chapter 15, table M1506.2

Good instructions but the install required more tools than suggested. The bracket design made the install straight forward. The fan is very quiet even on the highest flow setting.The fan requires about a minute to spool up to full speed, don’t be hasty in deciding, “It isn’t working” because you don’t hear it right away.

Useless Panasonic warranty

We bought a fan during our remodel last year. Less than a year later, the fan had problems starting up. It was past the Build return window, so the only recourse was to contact Panasonic. They said it sounded like a control board, which they would send. But they said it could be the motor. Since we need someone to install the control board anyway, we purchased a new fan. Hopefully this one works for many years instead of less than one.

We had a builder grade fan that was so loud. This this is so quiet in comparison, we can actually have a conversation while it’s on. Beyond it being quiet, it doesn’t do too bad at removing moisture either. Installation was super easy with no issues. We are now going to replace our other fans with this one.

Not removing moisture

Just installed this almost 3wks now and notice that it takes a while to remove moisture on the bathroom, have to leave the exhaust fan running for additional 10-15 minutes to remove humidity after showering. Yes, its very quite compare to my old one. I’m still on fence wether this is running correctly or not.

They are on the large side, but very quiet. Compared to the old exhaust fans they replaced, an incredible improvement. EZ speed select and a Panasonic warranty - a solid purchase and I would recommend them to anyone.

Mounting this fan and connecting duct is easy. There is no noise for this fan compared to old fan. Air flow through the duct outside vent is excellent. I used it for about a month and it worked very good .

So quiet we forget it is on

The mounting frame only extends 23”, which was too short to span the joists. Glued a 2x4 on the far side. Replace the no drill screws with dry wall screws for the frame to joists. Be sure to cut a very accurate 10 7/8” +/- 1/32” and square hole otherwise the fan flange won’t seat on the drywall and you will be in a world of hurt. Do yourself a favor and use the Wagu clips — wire nuts are so 20th century.

Install was fairly straight forward. The brackets to hold the fan housing is nice since it extends out to securely fit between two joists in your ceiling. The cutout for the actual fan is fairly forgiving so you can over cut 1-2 inches without any problems. My one negative comment about this fan is how long it takes to get to full speed once you turn it on. Wished it was an instant on like other brands but not a big issue since the fan is very quiet overall and I do like the ability to change the fan speed depending on your space.

Works well! Replacing an exhaust fan is one of those tasks that you think should be extremely simple, but depending on the install it can be very involved work. Fortunately my existing fan was easy to swap out since I had attic access literally a foot away from the fan. If you don't have easy access to the top part of the fan this job CAN be much more difficult. Thankfully, this Panasonic fan was a breeze to install, and works well. I am pleased!

Quiet as advertised

So far I have only powered the unit up on my workbench. (Connected to 120 VAC temporarily with wirenuts).
