Fails toilet paper test / candle smoke test

I just purchased and installed it. It performed so poorly with a smoke test (candle blow out) and toilet paper test (could barely attach it to the vent), that I completely rechecked the entire exhaust line. I don't know what to expect with 100 CFM, but my impression is that very little airflow is moving based on the aforementioned tests. I know it's an economy purchase, but it should perform to specification.

Install Impossible as described in guide

Inaccurate installation guide and poor design make this a poor choice for a replacement fan but might be okay for a new build. The pre-attached duct connector makes it impossible to rotate into place as shown in the guide. Installation from the attic side is difficult as the now installed mounting bracket is in the way. Solution for redesign include leaving exhaust connector off initially and designing a separate mounting bracket that would allow for dual installation options; rotating from below or drop down from above. In summary, unless you are a skilled contractor avoid this model.

I bought this for the motor. I have an Air King BFQ110 which has been discontinued. The BF110HD is the identical fan, down to the capacitor bolted on to the motor. Let's hope it runs longer than the Air Kings.

Fan sound like a 15 year old fan out of the box.

fan install was great and easy but it sounds pretty rough for a new fan. I have 15 year old fans that don't have the same "grinding" kinda of sound this one produces...i doubled checked to make sure nothing was stuck in the way of the blades. Either defected or its how it supposed to sound

Disappointed

Unfortunately this fan gave me a lot of trouble and seems to be bent or malfunctioning. It is extremely loud and after the lockdown I’ll be trying to return it.

The fan has very good flow but compared to others, it is rather noisy.
