Perfect for our house

Our house is well shaded from the sun so we barely used this much this summer. But when needed, I was amazing! Very quiet and cooled our whole house quickly. Our electric bill usually goes very high in the summer, but it was just right! Very pleased.

I have only had this AC a little more than a month. So far appears to be the best. Cools way more than 550 sq.ft. of my home and the sound is quieter than I assumed it would be. Great purchase!

Loud but very Effective

There is no quiet mode for this AC. i bought it in June when I was in a major heat wave and my central AC went out. It was so hot there was no way me and my senior dog could wait for the Main AC to be fixed. it was the only large unit my local store had, and i was skeptical how effective it would be keeping a 3 bedroom 1,700 sq.ft house cool. i mounted it in my master bedroom, and with the door open it keeps not only that room ice cold, but the room connecting to it where i have my TV comfortable.

Very unhappy long time customer here.

The remote for the air conditioner has very tiny screw that I'm sure that no one else can possibly have a screw driver for. I find this as big problem. I have a no way of using the remote.

We installed this AC to cool a 500 square foot room and it does the job quite nicely. The remote is easy to use and the fan speeds provide flexibility in cooling the room. Highly recommended if you have a larger room to cool.

The 1st one came faulty. The compressor wouldn't turn on. I purchased a second unit so I wouldn't be without an air conditioner. I called whirlpool and they told me to contact Home Depot to return the unit. Home Depot went above and beyond and so did Whirlpool. When my second unit arrived, I was told to just ship back the faulty unit in the new box because the original one got damaged by me while unpacking the unit. U.P.S. picked up the unit at my doorstep. As soon as U.P.S. scanned that it was received by them a refund was immediately received by me. The 2nd unit works great, and I like all the features it has.

Definitely would buy again. Good product, cools well, install in no time. Just get extra tape for air conditioners to seal around the windows. Works great.

No Longer Blows Cold Air

I bought this unit in 2021 for my cottage and it has only been used a few times since then. This year, 2023, it no longer blows cold air and XLS Products have washed their hands of it. All they have told me is 'it is out of warranty and we don't have that model any more'. I have tried to contact Appliance Repair companies and they won't service it either. I don't understand how a company like Whirlpool can abandon it's customers after purchase. I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again.

Excellent air conditioner. Buy it for a living room and it cools it very easily. Best part it can go up to 14,000 BTU based on Whirlpool documentation. Best air conditioner I've bought.

Just 1 unit cool's entire 1 bedroom apartment

Cool's entire 1 bedroom apartment. I keep mine on 70 degrees. Anything lower you'll freeze. My only complaint is it is a little loud but you get use to it. Very easy to install. It was heavy and did require 2 people but vey easy and simple. Would definitely recommend

Could not find anyone to hire to install for me...

Could not find anyone to hire to install for me so after 1 month of no AC, temps were getting unbearable, I, being 71 yrs old, had to do this by myself which was so hard and difficult. Once installed it cools my entire RV, which is 44' long with 3 slideouts and I live in RV fulltime. Long story short, it does a very good job! No central AC or heat in my RV (it did not work upon my purchase of RV and I was not aware of this). Found other sources to heat and cool RV.

2 Defective Air Conditioners

I purchased the first AC Unit on November 13, 2020. I had to file a claim for this window unit on July 14, 2021. I received a Replacement Air Conditioner on August 6, 2021 from XLS Products Incorporated. This window unit was also Defective. This company XLS Products Incorporated needs to do better. I will not be purchasing anymore Whirlpool Products. This was a waste of time and money.

Cools great, but thermostat is useless.

This unit cools our small living room no problem, but the thermostat stopped working properly, and now it cools well below the set temperature before turning off, and then once it does turn off it will wait till the room is way above the set temperature before turning back on. So you will be cold and then hot, over and over and over and over, etc.

Kept Main Level Cool

My central air stopped working and I was looking for a cheaper option since I live in Michigan we only get like a month or 2 of really hot weather. This thing is perfect I have it set up in my living room I have a 3 bedroom house. 2 bedrooms on the main level with a bathroom and kitchen it keeps my main level cool. It was easy to hook up only issue I'm a woman it's like an 80lb unit so it was hard picking it up to install on my own but it was worth it

This window air conditioner sure cools and dries the air. The only complaint I have is that when set on auto mode I can't adjust the temperature. It defaults to 72-73 degree F. There's a way to work around that, though and having it set to a warmer temperature is possible. We use this air conditioner for our main floor of our tri-level house and it keeps us comfortable in the hottest weather. As reference, we live in the Chicago area when sometimes it gets in the humid 90's and this conditioner keeps up with that kind of heat and humidity.

The air conditioner has a mind of its own. It cuts off when ever it wants, it goes to eco when it wants, the buttons on it does not work you have to unplug it to stop it and when you do it want start back up when you plug it in. I could go on and on but I want as soon as I can get someone to help get it out of the window it will be going back. Like I said it has a mind of its own and does what it wants to do. Oh yes when you do unplug and it want start it will eventually come on its crazy. I realize that its a defected unit but I can't give it a good review yet.

The machine is too noisy. Even using fan only, low speed the noise interferes with hearing with listening to radio, phone,etc. I have a cheap 12 inch diameter fan that makes no noise in low and slight noise in high.More important it does not fit in the sash channels of my aluminum replacement window--the window sits on the bar for the bellows. The window sash has to come down to the case of the AC so that the bar stops the AC from sliding out and falling to the ground.

Awesome unit!

We've been using for a little over a month. Works great, very cold. I left it at 61 degrees (that is as low as it will go) and when it was around 110 degrees outside, it was 65 degrees in my house. It is not as noisy as our last unit, which was a Danby brand. It doesn't have any awful vibration noise when the compressor is running. (The Danby we had was horrible for that.) We are very satisfied so far!
