Great appliance for easy meal prep
This crock pot was a gift. My sons have used it a number of times and enjoy the ease of operation and functions it contains. It heats well and the large capacity allows them to prepare a large meal. They prep their meal and set the time before leaving for work and have a delicious meal waitung when yhey return. Would have given it a 5 e cept it was damaged in shipment and has ding on outside but it works to cook and they can still transport it for offsite cooking and serving. Well worth the money.
CrockPot with all the updates I wanted!
One of the side handles on our old crockpot broke, and I saw this one at BJs on sale. All of the issues I had with my old one have been remedied on this one. This one has two latches for the cover so I don't have to use bungee cords when I transport it (which didn't work very well anyway). The side handles are more robust, and the power cord can be secured in the back so I don't have to jam it under the cover handle under the bungee cords. It's also larger (7 qt instead of 6), and comes with a nice zippered travel bag that holds everything for travel or storage.
Too hot! Body of the crockpot warped while cooking
Bought this less than a month ago. My old one lasted 13 years. This one less than a month. I have cooked 3 meals in it. Each meal has been burned from the warm setting. Each setting seems to boil the food. I didn't know soup could get burnt. I'm so disappointed. After using it today for the 3rd time the body of the crockpot warped/dented inward. It wasn't banged or touched noticed it when I went to plate the food. Now, I'm left at the holidays scrambling to replace what should have worked being that it's brand new.
My Old Friend
It's a Crock-Pot. You know how it works. I had my old one for 25 years. It still worked but the liner was scratched and worn. This is like an old friend in new clothes. The carry levers are a bonus for moving around. The black ceramic insert is smooth. I won't be using metal utensils in it this time. The display is easy to read and like my old one it allows you to set your own times. The shape is a little higher than my previous 7 quart model. I bought another trendy brand thinking it would be better but it was a lot of pot and not much space for actual food. It went back and I returned to my comfort zone. I hope this one lasts as long as my previous pot.
Cheaply made, broke after the first use. Plastic
If I could give zero , I would . I have had a crockpot for years, but wanted to get one with a timer. I figured - same brand. Well I was wrong. The casing is plastic which I didn’t know. The ceramic insert is the same. The low setting acts as a high setting. My dinner was ruined and the plastic bent because it was so hot on low it melted. I only had it on for 4 hours. Thank goodness I was in the house . Look at the other reviews. Don’t buy. It’s a piece of garbage.
Love this crockpot - buying a second one!
I purchased this crockpot for my daughter because her old one was broken. She absolutely loves it and has been using it so often that now I want one too! I'm going back to BJs to buy another one as an early Christmas gift to myself! This crockpot cooks evenly and allows you to set your desired cooking temp as well as time. Looks great - cooks great - and the price was amazing as well - can't be beat! What a great find!
Good for Beginners
I bought this inexpensive crock pot to see if I would like using a slow cooker after using a pressure cooker for many years. It did a great job on the beef stew and I had delicious results after cooking for five and a half hours on high. It is easy to use and I made sure I read all the instructions first. The only thing I might change for my next slow cooker purchase is to look for one with a metal cooking vessel instead of a stoneware one because the stoneware is very heavy and you cannot brown meat or saute vegetables in it. It would be nice to be able to do all the prep in the pan the food will cook in.
cracked
We have high hopes for the OG crockpot so we expect it to be top notch quality. We purchased this to replace our Hamilton Beach slow cooker because it started to omit a burning smell. The lid shattered the first time we used this product. We cooked it for 10 hours that day-which is standard in my home because we like slow cooked meals. I tried doing a warranty claim online and the warranty page is trash. I keep getting an error message to fix said errors on the page and there are ZERO errors.
COOKS HOT
I bought this crockpot years ago and have loved it, so when the crock broke it wasn’t even a question, I replaced it with the same one. I have now ruined 3-4 meals because it cooks SO HOT! A soup that typically cooks 6 hours on low was done in 3 hours so I turned it down to keep warm and it was burning 1 hour later. BURNING, BURNING HOT! After reading other reviews I agree, it appears as though all the settings are cooking on high- but it more like high on steroids. Huge disappointment!
PIECE OF CRAP
This is my 3rd, and final Crockpot from this company. The first quit working. The second, the crock cracked all the way around where the liquid line was. Ruined a dinner. I thought, well, that could happen, and I bought a third one. No matter what setting I set it to, it cooks on high. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CROCKPOT IN MY LIFETIME. What a waste of money. I don't trust that it will eventually burn down my house.
Crap that I have to spend time to return
Bought this piece of crap, brought it home, cooked in it. It shut off before the meal was cooked. Would not allow me to reprogram it after I unplugged and replugged it. Nothing was working except for the green light to say it was on. Back to Kohl's I go. A waste of my time. This is what happens when you pay cheap manufacture wages, use cheap materials and charge top dollar. There is no longer pride in production, only pride in how much money can be sucked out of the American consumer.
Favorite Crockpot
I purchased this crock pot as a replacement for a previous “Crockpot” brand slow cooker that I unfortunately had left at somebody’s home. Since I loved the brand and the pot I searched for a similar pot online. Very pleased with it so far. Good size for family meals or feeding a crowd. Love the lock and carry handles. Does not get hot to the touch which I consider a safety feature. Convenient touch pad controls. Will automatically switch to warm after cooking is complete. A good product for the money.
Chemical/Smokey Flavor Permeates Whatever I Cook
I loved this crockpot, initially. Felt stoneware insert would be easy to clean & sturdy. It is. It worked perfectly fine initially, even though I was concerned the low setting seemed to run hotter than I wanted i.e. food would still boil violently on low! The last 3 times I've slow cooked recipes on low, this burnt/chemical smell permeates the food inside. If it happened only once, I'd blame my recipe, but not this many times. I'm at a loss. I'm wondering if my crockpot isn't working properly? Saw no recall when I checked the internet. Hoping someone can tell me if they have same issue.
Crockpot Features
The large capacity is great for making big batches of chili & sauces or large meals. The timer feature is useful to insure recipes aren't overcooked. It automatically switches to warm when the timer expires. The high & low options are easy to adjust. I love the gasket on the cover which seals the moisture in & keeps your meals moist. It also prevents any sauces from seaping out under the cover. The locking lid keeps the food from spilling if you need to transport it. The handles are deep enough to accommodate large hands & make it easy to move or transport. Unfortunately it doesn't have a bracket to wrap the cord around like my other one. Overall I recommend this crockpot.
Not worth the extra money
I purchased this model for Thanksgiving thinking I’d have more options controlling the temperature of the food I wanted to keep warm. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The temperature on the ‘warm’ setting gets so hot you can’t touch the exterior without burning your hand. The food I was trying to keep warm kept getting to the point of boiling. In order to not burn the food I had to keep turning the crock pot off for 30 min intervals and turn it back on. Not what I’d expect with the temperature controls they put on it. This was marketed as an upgrade from the less expensive model, definitely not worth the money. The size and lid closure were the only plus.
I didn't think I wasn't going to love it.....
I purchased the 7qt. Countdown Cook & Carry Slow Cooker Crockpot about 2 weeks ago. The only reason I bought a new Crockpot was because the lid to my previous was accidentally dropped and shattered. I was broken hearted about the whole thing because my Crockpot had worked so hard to give me so many delicious meals over the years. I decided it was time for a new one. Since I have been a Crockpot owner for years I never thought I would not love my new purchase. I was surprised to learn this new Crockpot is MUTE, she does not give me any kind of noise, chime, ring of any sorts to let me know as I am making my cooking selections let alone when she is done cooking and changing to the warm setting. The whole point of the crockpot in my opinion was to not have to babysit or watch her as she is cooking. The beeping noise to let me know she is done cooking is missing in this model, this is a deal breaker. I'm not happy with this purchase, if this information was stated on the box, I would have chosen a different model. I also don't like the way the lid sits, but I could deal with that. I can't return, I threw away the box, because I didn't think I wasn't going to love it.
FOOD IS SCORCHED ON LOW SETTING!!
I have had multiple crockpots over the years, and this is the first one I purchased that had a timer on it. I decided to stay home to test cooking a pork boston butt for the first time, and I am so glad I did! After 4 hours, the pork was equivalent to that of 8 hours on low with all my previous crock pots. I feel like an idiot for not listening to the reviews posted before I purchased this. I cannot imagine what my food would have looked like had I left it in for the full 8 hours on low. Absolutely DO NOT buy this product. Also, before you tell me how sorry you are Crock-Pot brand like the rest of the bad reviews, have a meeting with your engineers to discuss the DEFINITION of what low setting really is and benchmark another brand. It's just a matter of time before you burn someone's house down... Returning this terrible product tomorrow.
