This plate covered a hole in our bedroom door where the previous owner had installed a keyed deadbolt. We replaced it with this plate to have a plain plate on the part of our door that faced out into the hallway. Worked great and matched our other matte black hardware perfectly!

The Schlage thumbturn knob latches smooth as butter! With a little careful chisel work on the existing mortising, the Schlage components all sit flush on the door and door frame. This keyless dead bolt with its blind external plate provides instantaneous security. Egress is fast. Best of all is no fear of breaking off the key inside the dead bolt, as happened with the Kwikset unit it replaced. Who wants yet another unmatching key? I trust Schlage hardware.
