Easy installation. Works as it should. The 12+ is perfect for our small one bedroom/ one bath guest cottage. Provides hot water simultaneously to kitchen, lavatory and shower , not that they will all be tasked at the same time, but as an example of the 12+’s capability.

This is a review for the Tempura 12+

I had this Electric on Demand WH installed in a small rental unit replacing a standard 30 gallon electric WH for which there has never been a complaint. The rental has one small bath and a kitchen sink. It appeared even though the WH was small that it would handle the rental unit's requirements. The wiring and pipes were modified to the exact specifications for this Stiebel model. From the first day the unit was not capable of a successful shower. They shower could have adequate pressure and only warm water, or low pressure and hot water but not pressure and hot at the same time. My plumber was not able to fix the problem and Stiebel's support wasn't able to help. I removed the Tempura 12+ and installed a new standard electric WH. I have no complaints now. All of the good reviews for Stiebel's WH are for the more powerful models. This model is inadequate for even a single shower. I do give Home Depot 5 stars. They delivered my online order on time and in good condition. They also allowed my return with no questions asked.

Great service

Water heater arrived sooner than estimated. Haven't installed it yet.

We went through 4 other tankless heaters and they didn’t work at all or did not produce consistent hot water even though they were more amperage. This brand costs more yes, however it works much better than Rheem or Ecosmart and uses less power. I installed a bigger unit before and it works great! Should have just gone with Stiebel to begin with.

Simple and quick to install

Bought the Tempra 12 to replace a Takagi TK-Jr when propane got too expensive. Simple and easy to change out and configure.

Internally some electronic components were loose and wire bundles not zipped tide together. Working good. Manufacturer made a decent product.

So far so good. I have had a tankless water heater before and enjoy the reduction in energy costs and the water temperatures the units provide. The installation was easy, I did have a plumber and electrician involved, it did not take a lot of time or expense to have this installed.

Not 8 GPM more like 1 GPM

While the water heats up nicely, the HUGE SET BACK is the lack of multitasking. I cannot run the shower and the kitchen sink at the same time in a one bedroom condo, the water flow just dies. Even for a one-bedroom condo, the Tempra 12 Plus is just not enough. The website describes the unit as an 8GPM, but it's actually 1.5GPM. The worst part is that I have to go through the costs of returning, reordering and reinstalling the new unit.

This fit my needs perfectly

I spent most of September without hot water while researching options to replace my boiler's tankless coil. This one used an existing circuit I had for a kiln and provides all the hot water needed for a household of 2. It shipped fast and was easy to install and life resembles normal again.

Very good heating unit for 100A service

This replaced an older Bosch 9kw unit. Direct replacement, more efficient and used the same wiring and breaker size. Much better at low flow heat. Supplies all the hot water at the cabin, including shower.

Smart choice in the right application (Tempra Plus 15)

I installed this unit in August of 2019 (one year ago) and it is one of the best investments I've made since purchasing my condo. This unit replaced a 30 gallon electric tank water heater from the early 1990's which was not providing enough hot water for a bath or for two people to take showers. The tank had not been maintained so there was significant sediment which degraded the performance. The tank was installed in a cabinet near the breaker panel. The tank was a very tight fit--it's doubtful the anode was ever replaced as there was no headspace.

We did not install the unit for reasons of power demand on our current electrical system. So are not able to determine it's function. I have given the unit a "good" rating based on quality build and also that we bought a space heater of the same brand.
