Our plumber was very happy with this valve for the shower set we are having installed. Keep in mind there is a slightly different version if the shower kit you are installing has the temperature set and volume control as two separate levers on the valve.

Solid brass without any rubber/plastic. It is sturdy and with good design. For example, the screw is within the square, so I can easily screw it to wood from the small opening at the front wall. (I replace a faulty non-Delta shower. The existing opening is small.)

The valve worked for one day and then broke! We had to have the plumber put in a new valve from a local plumbing supply store and so was charged again since there’s no warranty when using parts bought online. I hope to get a refund at least from wayfair for the cost of the valve.

The universality of the valve is great - a Delta. HOWEVER, the bracket is WAY too thin. It flexes and gives when you barely attempt to move the valve. I'm hoping it doesn't seem cheap when the shower is finished.

This was the product that was listed on the sight to pair with our new showerhead. Unfortunately, it did not work! Plumber said it was the wrong part. Had to toss out and buy a new one and have it overnighted so contractor could finish.

Check out your item before leaving store

Picked it up from the in store locker and the box had something rattling inside; thought it's ok then upon being back home and opening it, the body was dirty and scratched; the bracket was missing one screw that's why it rattled; and the bracket was deformed. Apparently somebody damaged it then returned it saying everything OK but what's important is shop boy/girl didn't check it but simply put back to the basket saying resale is OK... So, DON'T HESITATE TO OPEN AND CHECK OUT YOUR BRAND NEW BOX WHEN BUYING SOMETHING FROM THE STORE

This arrived fast and in excellent condition. Everything was as described. I appreciate being informed of items necessary to operate the main object of purchase! This, along with many other conveniences, makes Wayfair my 'go to' source for my home renovation projects!

I was relieved to find that an exact original replacement is available for my 20+ year old outdoor shower. I did not drain the original properly during a hard freeze and it was completely destroyed. The instructions are very cleat and the procedure is easy to follow. Worked as planned!

This is exactly what I wanted . The reason I gave you four star is that it was packed in oversized box and outside package was damaged and the one side was open. Luckily the product wasn’t missing but just shipping wasn’t in great condition.

The mixing valve doesn't give much adjustment between cold and hot but it works. Also it doesn't allow an increase or decrease in water pressure. I misunderstood the description when it said adjustable.

Wayfair has the absolute worst quality items. I don’t know why I kept giving it a try. They literally send pekoe’s heavily used, damaged or just straight up wrong products and refuse to stand behind anything they sell. We have spent so many thousands of dollars for our company and will never ever order from here again.

This is a great universal valve for the price! I've been using these on projects for years and have not had any issues with failure. the worst thing is to finish a project and find out plumbing behind the wall is leaking. I highly recommend this product for new builds and renovations.

fails

shortly after installation, it sprung a leak. Delta sent us new seats and springs which take a week to arrive so they were used as a backup since we needed a working shower immediately. Now, two years later, another leak. The backup seats and springs did not fix it so we had to buy a new cartridge assembly. Delta is sending us a replacement which will arrive in another week. We will use it for the next expected leak. Worst shower valve ever! Do not buy!

Universal doesn't mean you can use it for any brand of shower product. I bought a Moen shower faucet and needed a 'universal' valve made by Moen, not Delta. So, I used it for the second bathroom I was remodeling, and bought Delta products in a style I like. Also, it is an additional cost, making the cost of the finished product installed way more expensive than expected. Granted, it is mentioned I need it extra, and if I wasn't trying to use a style not commonly available in the box stores, I would have purchased a faucet assembly there. For some reason, Moen includes the whole package, faucets and valve housing in the whole package at the store, making what may seem to be a better price online actually more expensive. Because of Covid, my wanting a particular style, plus my inexperience in plumbing, it was a lesson learned.

I love Delta Faucet products

I have been doing bathroom renovations for the last ten years and I use Delta (Including for my own bathrooms). Quality is consistently good. Installation of rough valves is clear and easy. You can mix the trim style that you see on the outside with the rough valves in the wall. It's easy to disassemble meltable pieces before putting heat to the valve to solder it into place. Cautions: install the cartridge to check for leaks. Don't use the cap that comes with the valve. Hot water and cold water can cross paths inside the valve. I will continue to be an advocate for these great plumbing projects.

Good reliable valve but check entrance hole size

My contractor has a lot of experience with this Delta rough-in. He claims he can put it together with his eyes closed. Must be a popular item. I am bringing my old house to the plumbing code. Seems like a go-to rough-in. I purchased two of them, but I noticed that the cut-out openings where water enters the body on one of them were noticeable wider, than on the second one. I exchanged the smaller one for another one with larger holes. I hope this should make water pressure better.

Bad pipe threads

I could only tighten CPVC adapter 2 threads hand tight and with my 12" wrench less than one more turn. I went to Lowes and was able to hand tight same CPVC adapter 3.5 turns on a Moen shower valve and 1.5 turns on a Delta tub shower valve on the clearance rack (they don't stock them in store). I called Delta and their tech person said if I could tighten it at all it was good because different manufacturers have different threads. WOW WOW WOW unbelievable. I didn't like it because I'm installing 4 valves in my shower which means 12 fittings have a chance to leak over time so I returned them to Lowes and if I can't find ones that fit I have to use Moen which doesn't have the two handle system I wanted. Years ago my plumber neighbor said, "Oh well doesn't mean all is well."

The. R10000 series rough in valves are pretty much all the same so shop for price. The difference is the code after the model number. Some are shower only some are high flow and some are made with shut off stops built in. Do an internet search for delta shower valve codes and learn what the codes stand for and if they will work for your installation. The valves allow you to install and pressure test without needing a cartridge or finished handle. It's perfect if you have not decided on a finished look. You are committed to Delta but they have a huge variety of looks and styles in good quality merchandise. Water valves inside a wall are not a place to save a few dollars.

Good but unneeded

I bought this because I was installing a tile shower and after looking at trim pieces for the shower handle, concluded I needed to buy this separate because I found no mention of the valve being included with the trim. I also had to buy it online which was okay since I didn't need it for awhile. If needed in a pinch, it would of been a problem.

Delta Valve Body is fundamentally flawed and should not be on the market.

I made the mistake of retrofitting a tile tub/shower with a Delta Universal valve body several years ago. Unfortunately, if you look inside the valve body you'll see that the path from the valve to the shower goes through the tub spout section and then through a very small orifice to reach the shower leg. When you're adding this valve to old galvanized house plumbing, the type that sheds rust from time to time, the rust granules will eventually find their way into the shower orifice and plug it.
