I had high hopes for the Yale SL Key Free Assure Lock Touchscreen Deadbolt, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. This product is an absolute piece of junk. Not only did it lock me out of my own house, but the quality and reliability are nowhere near what you'd expect from a product at this price point.

Buggy app. makes YRD420 Un-usable

Went through the time and expense of installing Yale Assure Lock 2. When it was time to use it, you need an app. (ok downloaded it from Play Store). The app. was buggy from the start (kept failing to pair. Eventually, got past that point and was time to upgrade the buggy firmware, but guess what? Firmware was to buggy to upgrade? Customer Service response? Tradebyour Android phone for an i-Phone. We think that could work.

Doesn’t work

This item is terrible and barely works. Has constant connectivity issues and is overall flimsy.

Not as smart as we hoped and had to buy an additional module to hook to wifi.

Great Smart Lock

I’ve sold more of these than the ads for it. This lock works great. You can monitor you door from anywhere snd it will automatically lock after you close the door. You can create a temporary password for guests and even monitor who used the door.

We like not having to use the key to open the door and the fact that our daughter and granddaughter also can enter without a key. We have only had it about a month but like the convenience and ease of use.

Only lasts 5 months

Motor burned up in 5 months. Do not buy any Yale smart locks!

Worked for a month then became a headache.

My lock was perfect for about a month. Then it stopped connecting to my phone. Tried to figure out what was wrong but the app is no help. Tried to reset it through the app but it wouldn't work. Had to watch a video on how to reset the lock manually (which was not very clear). Reset it 3 times before the resent stuck. Opened the app and it wouldn't work but now it at least let me run a factory reset through the app. Finally I went through the installation process again and now it looks like it's working but I'm not sure how long it'll be that way. For this price it should not be such a headache.

Terrible battery life, looses connection every hou

Installed this in the front door. Hardware installation is straightforward, but it took me forever to pair it via HomeKit. Battery life is horrible (lucky if you get more than 30 days of battery life) and it keeps loosing connectivity all day long.

Well designed and good customer support

We have bought several Assure Lock 2 locks, replacing Schlage locks that broke after only a year or two of service. So impressed that bought a couple for my grown children too. Couldn’t be happier, work well, easy to program, and the one time I needed to contact customer support they were very helpful.

[Rewarded Review] Confusing naming scheme

Awesome lock, unfortunatley it has the same as another model so I bought the wrong one

Fantastic lock! The app made installation simple - and the lock is so sleek and smooth. I'm ordering two more for the other doors!

[Rewarded Review] Happy with the Yale Assure 2 Bluetooth Smart Lock

This is the first smart lock I've ever purchased, and overall I like it so far. It was easy to install, not much more difficult than a traditional deadbolt. Opted for the bluetooth-only option, because it shouldn't have hacking vulnerabilities that may come with Wifi-enabled devices. I also like that it doesn't have a physical key backup...if the battery dies you can just touch a 9V battery to the bottom so that you can enter your passcode, gain entry, and then replace the batteries. The black color matches our doorknobs/hardware. I like that it has auto-lock and un-lock features based on your phone location, although my one complaint is that these features don't seem to work seamlessly every single time.

They are expensive. But really not reliable

I revived 3 replacement directly from Yale. The most recent replacement lasted about 2 months. There just not good enough to be trusted with our house. We were under the impression they were the best. They're just the most expensive.

Good improvement

Technology and engineering are good! Works the first time. Just get the serial number to set it up. Is just outside the battery holder on the side of it.

[Rewarded Review] Great Lock

Works great. Instructions need to be followed CLOSELY! One complaint: App had some difficulties loading software updates and had to be attempted multiple times. . Once properly installed, you’ll love it.
