[Rewarded Review] Beautiful machine, but be careful!

The air conditioner itself is great: solid build quality, quiet, efficient, good remote, sleek and modern appearance. But about that "sleek and modern" appearance--there's nothing to hold onto when positioning the unit in an upper story window when the consequences of losing the thing could be catastrophic. Like, in my third-floor back bedroom where the 65-pound a/c would do serious damage to the roof below it, the porch below that, and whoever might be standing nearby. Seriously. This machine needs a handle or at least something recessed and grippy! As it was I locked a ratchet strap around it horizontally then hoped nothing slipped when I moved the unit into position.

Look No Further This is THE ONE!

This is my second purchase of LG duel inverter air conditioner. My first purchase was for my bedroom and I loved it so much I purchased another for my den. This air conditioner is so quiet...you set it and forget it. You almost think its not working, but the cool room proves otherwise. The simplicity of its functions is superb. On damp humid days you can set it to Dry and it takes that moisture out of the air. Cleaning the filter is a breeze too....just slide it out....I wash it with soap and water...give it a tap and dry gently and slide it back in. I highly recommend this window air conditioner by LG.

[Rewarded Review] Quiet, Fresh Air

i have never had a window AC unit that stayed on the set temperature when on Enery Saver! Anything else ive had would end up 3 or 4 degrees above the set temperature which resulted in inconsistent and uncomfortable. This AC DOES NOT blow that cold Gross wet feeling air. it blows nice fresh feeling air. its probably as quiet as a window unit can be. the auto clean feature is a amazing... and the remote has a screen to see what its being set to !

Very small vents does not cool like my older LG

I purchased this 10,000 BTU LG Window AC and very disappointed in how it's cooling compared to my Old 10,000 BTU LG Window AC, I had my old one 20 yrs %26 decided it was time to upgrade even though my old one still throws out ice cold air . I liked the smart feature on the new one. When I noticed how small the vents were I had a bad feeling it wouldn't cool the same but was hoping I was wrong until I put it on , its not cooling like my old one. It should! Same 10,000 BTU ,both LGs ,same window I put it in. My old LG 10,000 BTU worked great to cool my living room but has bigger vents also The air pressure that's coming out doesn't feel as cold or strong as my old one either. I'll be having to deal with the headache of returning it for refund and looking for a new one.

Biggest piece of junk purchased in a long time. I've been using window a/c units for years. Couldn't find a unit in the store this time. Associate said they no longer stock in store, must order online, so I did. Unit arrived a week later, went thru hassle of putting into window, turned it on, and the inside fan starting scraping against something. Turned off then back on. Same thing. After 3rd try and it got going, it was LOUD and continued to get louder and louder to the point it sounded like it was going to explode. Also, black soot was blowing out. I immediatley unplugged it, went thru hassle of removing it and taking to store for full refund. Store associate had the adacity to ask if I could try fixing it. "No, I cannot try to fix it !!" Refund received..

Pros: Looks, efficient and quiet, LG APP is great. Cons: (minor) when using the schedule in the LG app, the remote isn't synced, it kind of works independently and will simply override the apps program. EX: program starts at 6am, and I want to adjust temp from remote later, I have to "turn it on" first and it jumps to whatever the last manual setting is. Also, there's a funny smell that comes out when it cycles on in Energy Saver mode, so we never use it.

CH 21 is bad news for this unit

We purchased this unit one year ago June of this year. Unfortunately the warranty expired....when I go up this morning the bedroom felt a little off and looked at the window unit and it read CH21. This unit was only ran at nightime in our bedroom appromimately 12 hours at night. Now we cannot use it at all until we decide if service will help us. This unit was not cheap, and sorry I did not purchase the extended warranty. We have had several other regular window units in the past 10 years and each one lasted 3-4 years with no problem.

Fantastic product. The duel inverter sounds like a gimic but its not. I have this unit in a 400sqf room. I set the temp to 73. My alexa and AC say the room is 85. Within 20 min, its down like 5°. And its QUIET!!!! the fan isnt that powerful so if you want to feel the cold air flow, place a small fan near by. But the air flow is very capable of cooling my hot living room.

No Regrets

This is the second LG AC window unit that I have purchased. The dual inverter really makes a difference. The unit runs so smooth, it quietly ramps up and you don't even know that its on. My prior AC unit used to drip onto my deck below which made it annoying while entertaining. The LG has the Slinger Fan feature that eliminates this issue. The Thin Q Wi-Fi application was a little difficult to install on my IPhone but rereading the instructions solved the problem ( you must turn off Cellular Data for it to connect, you can turn it back on after it sync's with your phone). I purchased the 10K BTU unit for my finished 15x35 attic office and it cools the space perfectly. The unit is fairly heavy so two people would be helpful to get it installed. I also purchased a window bracket to alleviate some of the weight on the window frame. LG is on top of their game ...no regrets at all

EXTREMELY quiet

This must be the quietest AC I've ever owned. I don't often write recommendations, but I'm making an exception here. I have tinnitus, so most people's "quiet" isn't good enough for me. It has to be close to inaudible or it will drive me crazy. The question as to whether to suffer AC noise to cool down, or suffer the heat to have quiet is very real for me. I still don't want AC in my bedroom, but this 10k BTU AC cools my living room and kitchen quickly, and eventually reaches my bedroom too. If I lower it to 71 degrees, it will cool the un-air conditioned space in as little as 15 minutes. Most of the time I can keep it on energy saver at 77 degrees and am quite comfortable. It makes little enough noise that I could have a conversation right next to it, but the cool air spreads nicely, so I can have a conversation anywhere in my apartment (over 700 sf) and still feel cool. I've only had it 2 weeks now, so I can't comment on cost savings, and I have no interest in its WIFI functions, so I can't comment on those either. I looked into 3 other ACs that all claim to be very quiet. The saddle shaped one simply cannot be accommodated by my window sill; the U shaped one was not available anywhere near me on the day I needed it. The last claimed to be quieter than this LG model, but too many of its reviewers complained that many of its functions malfunctioned soon after purchase (buttons didn't work or gave out, lights didn't light, or it was noisy). Hardly any reviews mentioned problems with this model, so for all around peace of mind, I chose this one, and am really happy with it. I live in a Manhattan coop, and my super and his assistant kindly installed it for me. Took them about 45 minutes, start to finish. Not cheap, but worth it because I no longer have the stress of choosing between too much heat or too much noise.
