I love my dryer

My old dryer wasn't that old but I had problems with it almost from the start but it stopped working and instead of repair I decided to go new. I have replaced almost all my appliances with LG and been very happy so I only wanted a simple LG dryer. This is what I got and I am extremely happy. The clothes dry much quicker than my old dryer. While the operation was different than my old dryer it took me a couple of minutes to learn how to operate it. But it really is very simple to operate and has everything I need without all the extra bells and whistles that I don't use and don't need. I have been extremely happy with the LG brand in all my appliance and any future purchases will be LG> I will also say the delivery guys were great, timely, knowledgeable friendly and efficient all in all it was a extremely pleasant experience from start to finish.

LG 7.3 Cu Ft Dryer and Delivery/Installation

LG appliances are very well rated by Consumer Reports. We have high hope for this one, but to make sure we purchased the 5-yr extended warranty. Interestingly, if the warranty is not used, you will get a 50% refund on the cost of the warranty. You really can't beat that!

Installation Issues

The delivery drivers were polite and courteous and previously I gave a good review on everything but upon reading the manual we found that the existing dryer vent hose that they used from my previous dryer was not acceptable nor safe to use so my husband had to install a correct one. Upon pulling the dryer out, we also found the wiring from the power cord was incorrectly wired to the dryer. It clearly has a sticker showing which wire goes where as well as instructions in the manual. The strain relief was also not installed. My husband had to go back and correct all these mistakes. These issues could have caused major electrical shock! These installers must do better! We are very disappointed in these findings! Expected better.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I got my dryer delivered and installed three weeks ago, came downstairs to the installers and my basement FILLED with smoke, and the guy said it was normal for a new dryer and left. Come to find out he unplugged my washer and broke the cord and plugged it in anyways which is what was causing the the smoke. He caught the entire ground wire on fire and ruined my entire washer and I Home Depot did NOTHING about this, so I had to buy a new washer. Then to top it off my new dryer doesn’t heat up. I ordered a replacement, was supposed to come a week after, I took the day off work, waited for the window and it never came. When I called the lady told me they never told me it was coming that day! Fast for ward to a week later and now they’re telling me it’s tomorrow but have no time yet and to call back at 6am. I am three weeks without a working dryer and had to buy a new washer as well due to Home Depot’s negligence. Thank god they didn’t catch my house on fire. I have never experience such TERRIBLE service in my life.

[Rewarded Review] Quiet and efficient

I really like this dryer. It does not have an interior light, but neither did my old one. It took me a minute to realize the cool light stays on during the cycle and the dry light flashes (until the cooling cycle begins and then the cooling light flashes). At first I wondered it if was operating properly because it doesn't really say anything in the manual about how the lights are supposed to act during a cycle. It runs very quietly with a little song to indicate it's finished (much, much, much shorter, quieter, and less annoying than the Samsung washing machine song - for those familiar). I bought this particular dryer based on reviews, cost and availability when my old dryer died and do not regret the purchase. I've only had it about a month and a half, but it works well.

[Rewarded Review] Dryer doesn’t Delight

The dryer dries ok, takes long though. Also there is no light inside. I didn’t read the specifications and assumed all dryers had lights inside as did my previous ones over the last 30 years. It’s a bit annoying not to have a light in there. Imagine not having a light in your fridge. It takes a long time to dry contents, requiring several cycles of 40 or 60 mins for one medium size load of towels. The drysense option doesn’t work well and leaves clothes damp and shuts dryer off quickly. No longer using this useless feature. Wish I had believed the reviews. It does beat dragging loads of wet laundry to our local laundromat for 5 weeks at $2 a load. My previous Whirlpool Cabrio was far superior in drying contents. Wish it could have been repaired.

Poor stock at Lowe's.

The washer is a good size, I would not consider lableing it as "ultra capacity". I had a whirlpool before that was ultra capacity but it was 8.8 cu.ft. it's harder to find that size now. I was not impressed with the items Lowe's had in stock... My wife and I have 7 kids, our dryer went out, we needed a replacement fast. Lowes had 3 different dryers in stock out of the many on the floor... Very misleading. We were stuck with the largest in stock, and only 48 hrs vice the 30 days to make a decision if we wanted to purchase the warranty. Which we did not do. Customer service was great. Just bad experience with Lowe's in general. Dryer has a long drawn out song that can not be turned off, when the dryer stops which defeats the purpose of a "quite-will not disturb nap time" product description.

Modify for less lint. Seal firmly.

The output air flow connector 4" duct is not large enough on the crimped end to fit snug into a normal 4" duct exhaust pipe elbow. I had to remove the output 4" pipe from the dryer & apply aluminium 2" wide duct tape to the crimped end to allow a snug fit for the elbow to keep it from being too loose & falling off. If installed without this modification lots of lint would surely fill the room. The gap between the elbow & the crimped end is about 1/4" The single support L shape with only one stripped out screw is not enough support for the crimped end of the duct tube coming out of the dryer. Two L shaped supports would be much better with self starting finer thread screws that are less likely to not be stripped out from the factory. Otherwise the dryer seems to be well made. Only time will tell. Unit was installed on 5-18-24, The same day as this review.

Zero star costumer service! Not recommended!

This dryer has a 3 month nightmare! Day one, dryer did not run a full cycle. We read the manual and did what was recommended only to try again and failed to work due to flow sense. Day 3, called LG and reported the issue and was relieved to hear they would set up a repair man to come look at it. 2 weeks later the repair man looked at the dryer and said it needed new parts and he would make the order that day and the parts would be here in a week, which they were. 2 weeks later he came again and replaced the parts in our new dryer! Dryer still did not run a full cycle, the longest cycle we got was 30 minutes which did not dry the clothes obviously. Since all of that I have called LG 4 more times, one call lasted over 45 minutes trying to troubleshoot with the costumer support tech to only discover that this device will not work in my house due to the ducting outside is more than 7 feet, but to try a hard reset and call back if it doesn't fix it! When I called back the next day informing LG that the issue still exists I was told that they would have the presidential team call me within 24 to 48 hours. 48 hours later I called again and was told the same thing. 48 hours later I called again and once again I was told the presidential team would call me back in 24 to 48 hours. The dryer by this time was running a 2 to 10 minute cycle at the most! I need to mention that I had cleaned the duct out 3 times in this period and know there were no obstructions. It has now been 72 hours since I was told they would call me back and I am about to call them again, I will continue to call them every 48 hours till I make contact with someone that can tell me what they can do to help me get rid of this piece of garbage sitting in its original box in my garage! I will say that the costumer support team has been very nice and as helpful as they can be I suppose, but the presidential team has zero respect from me and definitely deserves a zero star rating! I have informed them that I was waiting till today to write my review so there it is! I hope if you choose this dryer for your home you have better luck with it working properly because if it doesn't I feel you will be in the same situation as me, out $600 plus the time off from work you will take to jump through LG's hoops with no resolution in sight!

Broke after 8 months

Purchased this because it specified "ultra heavy loads." From the beginning, this junk could never handle anything more than a medium load of laundry. After 8 months, the machine stopped heating. We have our vents professionally cleaned and hired a technician to service the machine and still nothing changed. I contacted LG customer service and received a text of troubleshooting that included cleaning the lint trap and other obvious solutions we already did. Their costomer service said they would reach out about scheduling their own technician and I would need to provide proof I had our vents professionally cleaned but I never received further communication. A complete headache and money pit! Go with another brand!

Less Frills

Bought this dyer a few weeks ago and it's working well. Had an issue with the air flow initially, but it cleared once I cleaned my dryer vent with a wet vac. Not fancy, but no need to pay for extra frills IMO. I do have an issue with the cycle status indicators. Both dry and cool indicators illuminate when drying with the dry indicator blinking. Once it starts cooling the dry indicator turns off completely and the cool indicator blinks. When I reviewed the owner's manual it specifically stated the dry indicator illuminates during the drying process only and the cools indicator illuminates during the cooling process only. In my case they both illuminate during the drying process with the dry indicator blinking. The owner's manual states nothing about either blinking at any point. This issue threw me off, so I called customer service, and the tech didn't have an explanation. Not a showstopper but definitely a process that should have been defined in the manual. I'd be interested to know if others see the same issue.

Read appliance details before purchasing

I have had my dryer for about 5 weeks now and it works just fine. Dries well so I have no complaints in that respect. Unfortunately I didn't take the time to read up on the specific features of this dryer, otherwise I would have purchased another model. First there is no drum light. My previous dryer, the Maytag Maxima had a drum light that came on automatically and could remain on during the cycle. I don't necessarily need lighting during a cycle but it would have be nice to have lighting during loading and unloading on this model. More disappointing than the lighting though is there is no time display indicating when the drying cycle ends. I've never had a dryer that didn't provide a countdown. I looked at the models in the store, which don't have power to them, and just assumed there would be a timing display when in use. I posted 3 stars for the dryer as it does work just fine but I'm very disappointed in the lack of what I consider basic features. Next appliance purchase I'll be sure to read about all of it's features before making a decision.

So far this dryer has been quite good. It’s very quiet and has dried my clothes and sheets better than the one it replaced. The sensor dry is pretty good at sensing thinner fabrics, not quite as adept at pillows and comforters but still an upgrade from my previous one. Pillows fluff up nicely in the drum. I have found with clothes, I don’t usually need to run an extra amount of time after the sensor dry, again like my previous one needed. The controls are very simple and plain, but I just need my clothes dried.

Does a good job and quieter than the 35 year old generic it replaced. Don't like all the electronics touch buttons and presets, but quickly learned how to regain control. I hope that long term parts availability is as good as the previous model. Have already worked on an LG washer about 5 years old and had good luck getting parts for that so I am hopeful. The delivery was done well. On time and quite courteous. Same capacity as what it replaced but narrower and deeper where the old one was wide and shallow. Look deep into the drum to get the last sock. Would have preferred a bottom hinge door, but I reversed the hinges on this one and will get used to it. I have been satisfied with LG quality on other major appliances and expect good service from this dryer.

The sensor dry does not work properly.

We have had the dryer for 2 days and during that time we have found that the Sensor Dry does not dry the contents no matter what set of settings we tried. The dryer starts but turns off after a minute or more but the contents are not dry. The timed drying works fine.

Good basic dryer

I like that the controls are simple and it does a good job drying clothes. Note, our dryer came defaulted on “energy saver” mode on the normal cycle. Thought it was broken because it would only blow cold air! Took it off of energy saver by holding down the temp and dry level buttons simultaneously. You’ll know you turned off energy saver when the light goes out next to those words. Once we did that, it dried perfect on the normal cycle. No other problems on the other cycles. Kind of wish it had a timer so you could see how many minutes are left. However, when you see the cool light flashing you know it’s almost at the end of drying. Great dryer!

[Rewarded Review] Energy Star Dryers are Slow

Prior to this I had a very basic Whirlpool gas dryer that knew how to do one thing, get my clothes dry. That dryer met its demise after 20 years of service because a crayon melted in the drum. I now wish I put more effort into trying to clean that out than replace it with this dryer.

Five Techs Later Still Not Working

I purchased this product on May 2023 and it is still not working as it should today, November 2023. The dryer has given us issues since the day it arrived at our home. LG has scheduled over five technicians to come and take a look at the dryer and still have no real solution. They insist that there is an issue with the duct flow and installation of the dryer but that is not right. Installers have came out to look at our installation and they said it was perfect. The air duct was properly cleaned before the dryer was installed, so yes it has had a recent inspection too and it is not the problem either. The dryer has never completed a full cycle or maintained heat, it is basically just air drying which is what I do NOT need it to do. LG customer service continues to tell me to perform all these tests and nothing ever changes, they never even respond to my follow-ups as they claim that they will. I have contacted a Presidential liaison more than once and I stopped getting any responses. LG this is unacceptable service, I deserve to have a product that works because I paid for it and purchased it new. Ridiculous.

So Far, So Good

We've only had the LG DLE6100W dryer for a little over a week, so we can't speak about the durability of the dryer, but we can give you our first impressions.

[Rewarded Review] A Simple and Very Good Dryer

This is a great dryer for those heavy duty loads of laundry. I can really get a lot of clothes in it to dry and it is great for quilts and other bedding. It also especially nice when the grandchildren are here in the summer as it seems as though the washer and dryer are running constantly. This makes it easy to keep up as I can dry a lot of clothes at one time. It has plenty of options for drying and yet it’s quite simple to use.
