Third time's the charm?

This is the second such lock I've purchased, and the third one I've used. The first -- possibly a 1st-generation model -- had cracking on the buttons after a surprisingly short time. It was replaced -- for free! -- by Schlage. That one lasted for perhaps five years before it began to fail: it sometimes wouldn't unlock the door even after the correct code was used. Changing the battery did not solve the issue. So, this is the third one -- third time's the charm?

It worked for only two months. I thought it was the battery. When I tried to change the battery, I saw the wires were frayed with metal sticking out. I did receive a refund for the unit, however I also paid for the installation of the keypad. I don’t know if the unit was defective or was damaged by the installer. But at the end of the day I have a keypad lock that doesn’t work and I now still have to use a key to get into my home. The whole purpose of buying this lock was to be keyless! And now I have to use a key again and I’m out $100.00 for the installation. Make that make sense!!

Long lasting, dependable Security

We have been using this lock now for three years. Has been very dependable, keys, continue to work, the punch in the code to get in the door, and is very durable in the sunlight. We had a situation where we locked ourselves out of the house, and the batteries were totally drained on this lock. we had a locksmith try to open it, but could not. This is a very dependable lock, the beware that the battery needs to be changed on an annual basis if it is used a lot.

Lock - unlock lever

Had a number of Schlage locks. Quality on this lock is good, but the lever that locks and unlocks the door can be inadvertantly unlocked just by brushing against the lever with your hand. Even though I am conscious of this, once or twice a week I find the door in the unlock position.

This was a life saver!

This keypad lock has made it so we don’t have to hand out multiple keys to every employee and potentially lose them to people who shouldn’t have access. Our facility has multiple!

Well Designed

I purchased these locks for a shared family cabin. I have a similar lock on another vacation rental property. These locks are so convenient and well designed. It was important for me to have something with a key backup in case the battery dies in the sometimes long spans of time when no one is at the house. I also didn't want anything dependent on wi-fi due to the remote nature of the home. I love that the lock can be disengaged by the flip of the lever to make reentry easy. I am curious, though, to see how the finish holds up since the home is near salt water.

Replaced all locks in our new home with Schlage!

My husband and I bought our first house 6 months ago and decided to replace all the locks with Schlage. We have several Schlage products, but we are especially happy with this keypad lock. It was super easy to install and there have been no technical issues to date. Despite being a keypad, we feel very secure in our home. We just replaced our back door this weekend and reused the Schlage locks, which again, was very easy to do. In the new door, we decided to add a Schlage deadbolt for extra security at night.

Replacement after 33 yesrs!

Changing ALL of the door latches was a bit of an uphill challenge. We built our house in 1990 and had Schlage hardware. Over the years the metal looked worn and an upgrade was necessary. The black "handles" look so fresh and current on our existing doors. This is the first experience with keyless entry that is simple to use.

1500 successful openings-going strong

Spring 2022 Home Depot installed a new front door and a new Schlage 365 level lock . The HD installer took about 20 min to install, test the mechanism and transfer the key lock. The lock gets used a couple times a day-never failed in 1500 operations. The darkness illumination has used about 20 times and nighttime illuminated keys are handy. If you wrongly enter the combination, an error red warning indicate to start over. No complaints here. Nice not searching or fumbling for keys. You can accept to use preexisting combinations or easily enter your favorite combination. All-around winner.
