Easy to setup very easy to move

My bedroom is relatively small so this unit creates a cozy freezer for my sleeping pleasure. I only need use the one item that holds the exhaust pipe from the unit, it is just 1inch shy so I use a 1 inch strip of painter tape to cover. The painter tape removes very easily leaving no sticky surface behind. The true test are the two cats that sit in the window. The cats have not dislodged the window exhaust part.

Quiet Room Air Conditioner

A very quiet, reliable air conditioning portable floor unit that does an excellent job of cooling a small to mid-size room. This is the second Amana unit I have purchased because the first one I purchased works so well (its the next size up) and these units are so quiet.

It cools a large garage for our pets and it's working great after a full year of constant use.

Easy installation

I have been using window air conditioners for about fifteen years, but at my age and with my physical problems, I decided I would try something that has wheels and doesn't have to be physically fitted into the window. This has been a pleasant surprise. I found that I could easily get the hose to fit into the plastic form that fits into the window. I had to cut the form so that it would fit the window opening. If I had had tin snips, I think it would have been better, as it was, I snipped bits of it off until it fit. The ragged edge does not show, so it is fine. I installed it into the living room and the noise competes with the television. I would think twice before I installed it into a bedroom. I bought the 7000 btu and it cools a large room adequately. I live in Texas and the summer has been extremely hot. In a more moderate climate, it might keep the room chilly, I can't say for sure. I set it at 71 degrees. I've had it for about two weeks and I'm satisfied with my purchase. I am a little wary about whether it will come back on after losing power. I believe there was a power outage during the day and when I came home it had not come back on. Thank goodness, my old fashioned window air conditioners were chugging away. I can't have the pets in a hot house while I'm out.
