Installed without going into the attic cellulose, praise God. Simple 1 speed 80CFM with Decent online reviews Standard 4" round connection. Bought some HVAC tape. Loose hacksaw blade to widen %26 remove 50-turned-10CFM jet engine loud unit %26 seat new unit. Connected to a new soffit vent.

I replaced a old, noisy fan that was installed in the early 60's in my basement bathroom. Very easy to install. It's more powerful, quieter and no back draft like the old one. Happy with my purchase.

We bought this bathroom exhaust fan for our home in Texas. Our home builder didn't have a fan in the bathroom as the claim with a window code says you don't need one, the separate room toilet fan is suffice. We had an electrician install the fan but was greatly disappointed in the suction power. It barely will hold a piece of paper to the grille. The fan operation is quite but we need a ventilation fan that has more suction power. The smaller vent fan installed by the builder in the bathroom outperforms this one. We would have been better off purchasing the same builder brand that was $20 less.

Noise from the damper

I have an older model which was getting noisy so I boght to replace it. BUT this ARN80C is as noisy. This makes wonder where is the noise come from. I found out the noise come from the damper which was virbrating that makes the noisemy in the old and this Broan bath fan. So I wasted all the effort of replacing but I can't put back the old one which is smaller than the new one since I cut a bigger hole for the new one.

REALLY QUIET! I wasn’t sure if it was on the first time I flipped the switch. There are no secrets of what goes on in that room. The vent was larger than the old fan I was replacing. Be prepared that you may need to replace the duct.

Does what it’s supposed to and seems well built, easy install. Looked at many exhaust fans. Cheapest ones are often rated at around 6 sones, high priced ones usually rated under 1 sone. This seemed a good, middle of the road at 2 sones. I misjudged....the sound is reminiscent of a fan in a gas station restroom! It’s noisy! I cannot imagine what a 6 sone sounds like...a jet engine?? It’s okay for now but I’ll likely replace it with a quieter model.
