I found a more powerful one with one burner 1800 , and one 1200. It works better for me. I am returning this one.

Power Button Instant Response Causes Problems

Performance of burners are pretty good but this device has a couple of show stoppers that I wish I knew about when I purchased this in early 2023. Firstly, the 'child lock' function is totally worthless because of one glaring oversight: regardless of any settings that have been made (including the lock function), if the power button is touched, even accidentally, the unit instantly shuts off, returning all settings to their default, power-off state. The unit can then immediately be turned back on and all functions are available for use.

Shortly after install we started to experience problems with sensor controls freezing which has gotten worse and worse to the point that the burners would turn on by themselves after a year. Since it was over 1 year since purchase, Summit was no helpful and directed me to an authorized service center. The cost for a service call + potential parts would be close to what we paid for this cooktop, and after this experience I don't want another appliance from Summit and will be buying another brand

October 2021 - Used with enamelled cast iron pan (probably not recommended) for a brunch and it worked very well. Just need to get used to icons!!!

Sleek, Compact Electric Cooktop

Sleek, compact electric cooktop for my new kitchen. Generally I prefer electric, but decided to bring my 1930 Kalamazoo wood/gas cookstove to my new home, and planned to use the gas burners. This is intended to supplement the cookstove. This unit will actually replace the first one I purchased, which worked upon installation, but before I even moved in had an issue that the company would not rectify - possibly a mother-board for the controls. In retrospect, I probably should have purchased a model with knobs vs. electric touch pad, but with care it should last. The white glass blends in with my countertop well, and the surface should be easy to keep clean. Just have to be careful about not allowing items to rest on the control panel; it can be locked to avoid little fingers from accidentally activating the burners. And, I got a great deal!!!!

Not only is this stovetop a safety hazard, it takes double the time to cook anything because it has a mind of its own. While you're cooking it constantly turns off, we've tried keeping the pots as far away from the controls as possible thinking it was possibly due to the heat, we've tried covering the controls thinking possibly they were getting wet or dirty and nothing works. It turns itself on when nobody has even been near it in 2 hours. I highly recommend nobody ever purchases this stovetop, it was a big waste of money as we are now having to purchase a new one.
