The unit was a bit difficult to install. The instructions were confusing and I'm a contractor. Overall, the Panasonic fan/light works great. The bathroom isn't that large, but I set the switched it to 110 CFM's and it's still very quiet. The LED light is very bright, so I installed a dimmer switch. The night light required an additional switch and wiring but was worth it.
Ceiling fan with light is terrific!
After bathroom remodel, we realized that our light fixture did not provide enough light. This item was an ideal solution, and it was installed easily within a half hour. Highly recommend!
Fan works remarkably well. Very quiet. Very easy install. Good bright light. Has been working flawlessly for over a month. Panasonic makes a good solid product.
Panasonic Bath Fan
This Fan is the best. Very quiet and strong. When in use there is no moisture in the bathroom whatsoever after a steaming hot shower. I have already recommended to 3 friends who plan to purchase.
Panasonic Nice
This Whisper Ceiling fan is so quiet. Replaced my original fan which was a smaller, louder unit and do not miss that other fan at all! This is a great product and easy to install. Make sure that your switches accomodate a light installed in the fan unit. Didn't realize that it took another line to power the light independent of the fan. Didn't need it anyway. Great product!
Purchased to replace 10 year old FV-11VQL5. This model is listed as the replacement. They changed the positioning of the screws and wire housings just enough to make it difficult to swap out the main components without having to tear out the entire frame. I was able to do it, but had to leave the wire housing unscrewed and just wedged in place. It's fine, but why change things a few inches and make updating so difficult? Pulling out the entire frame would be a nightmare job for us non-professionals. Good fan, effective and quiet.
I could only give this an "average" since I bought it to replace the same fan after only a year. When replacing I took a close look, and now I understand why there are cold breezes in the bath all winter - the flap has visible light all around it. Only buy this if you plan on a secondary higher quality flap on your vent line. Very quiet at a very high cost.
Can’t run fan without light
Waited on hold with Panasonic over 30 minutes for assistance and no one ever answered. Instructions don’t explain how to have the light and fan on separate switches so you can run the fan without the light on. A lot to pay to have to have bright white led on the entire time I’m trying to dry out my bathroom after a shower. Wish I had bought the one without a light. Other than that it works and is pretty quiet.
Whisper quiet and gets the job done
Super Quiet and Works great! Purchased to replace an existing van light fan that was only 70 cfm and couldn’t handle the steam. The new u it installed and works great. When you initially turn it on, it takes about 30 seconds before you can even hear it, which I was skeptical at first, however it clears a large bathroom without problems. I will be adding two more as we upgrade other bathrooms…
[Rewarded Review] big fan of panasonics
I am a big fan of panasonic bathroom fans. They are in my opinion the best because they are super quiet and easy to install. The kit comes with a metal ez bracket that will fit into your bathroom ceiling fan if you use the provided template to cut the dry wall. Once that is in, you can use the adapter for your 4in or 6in duct. Both will work fine. Use some aluminum tape to seal up the duct and then use the self tapping screws to set into place. The light includes is LED and is 700 lumens at 10W. Not too bright but good enough. Too bad there is no nightlight function on this model like others have it. The LED light has a separate cord to plug into the main unit. Once you connect this, the light snaps into place with the embeded wires that flex upwards. Finally I like the fact that you can choose the fan speed. 50 rpms is the lowest setting and is whisper quiet. I have set mine to 80 since it's in the middle and still quiet enough not to cause too much of a disturbance. Highly recommend this kit to replace any bathroom ceiling fan. These are highly reliable and have great air flow to vent unwanted odors and moisture.

Easy installation, replacing an old component. My wiring configuration resulted in the Nightlight option, which I’m not sure is overly useful at the expense of a “light only” mode. Will eventually go back in the attic to wire it so that switch 1 turns the light on and off and switch 2 turns the fan on and off. Currently switch 1 only turns on the very dim “Nightlight” and switch 2 turns on the full light and fan together. Operation of the fan is great. Much quieter than others I’ve had, even at a higher CFM setting.
Quiet fan with easy install.
Very impressed with this bathroom fan. The install was easy enough even for only a semi-skilled homeowner such as myself. It's very quite but still moves the air around extremely well on the medium setting. Light seems bright enough to me as well. I would definitely recommend this fan/light combo.
great fan
I recently had this fan installed in my bathroom. It is great! It is SO quiet - even at the highest speed. It also runs very efficiently. Another feature I like is the night light. It is bright enough to see where you're going but doesn't light up the entire room.
Having installed many bathroom exhaust fans in my professional line...
Having installed many bathroom exhaust fans in my professional line of work (residential construction), I liked the overall net effect. The fan is totally quiet - i cannot hear it running when on medium speed. I intentionally installed a 6" roof exhaust vent with damper and bird screen, and connected with R-8 insulated 6" flex duct, allowing a 2 foot straight run . This allows greater airflow with less back pressure resistance and THAT is what helps make it REALLY quiet. The installation instructions are a little challenging for retro-fit installations, but i managed to figure it out. (A little confusion relating to placing the mounting bracket on top of existing drywall and what plane the fan housing should be placed) Panasonic could improve by offering a variable light temperature - theirs is 3000K, offering 3500 and 400K would be nice to better match other ceiling lights.) The 700 lumen output is adequate - i placed this unit directly over the shower for better lighting and e

Fan is great. Quiet, smooth operation. Even at the 110 cfm setting, it’s much quieter than the cheap fan it replaced. The installation bracket works quite well. The install instructions could use more detail and clarity. However, there are many videos out there for this product in case you get stuck as I did. Probably a good marketing technique by Panasonic.

This fan/light combo is great. Fan is super quiet and the light plus night light also are great. As many have said however, the installation instructions are terrible. The pictures are tiny and unclear and the written instructions are very vague. As suggested by others, I checked out YouTube videos (about 4 of them!) and still couldn't resolve all my issues with the installation. After much struggling and not finding anything in the written instructions or videos, I figured out that the bottom of the first section of the fan/ light that goes in had to be installed flush with the bottom of the ceiling sheetrock, not the bottom of the ceiling joists. Also, some people have questioned if this unit can be installed just from within the bathroom without access from above. The answer is yes. That's what I had to do since I installed in a first floor bathroom. The fan is installed in 2 parts with the first part connecting to the exhaust duct and all wiring. Then the second part slides up to connect to the first part and then 2 parts are screwed together.
Noisy, ugly, and a YELLOWish light????
What a disappointment! First of all, starts sort of quiet, then gets louder, and louder, and LOUDER. I've had many much quieter fans in other homes. Second, the light is horrible. When you walk into the room, the color of the light compared to the other LED recessed light is night and day. Looks dingy. Third, the trim piece itself looks like cheap plastic . Maybe this one was just put together wrong. I'll wait for responses, and update my comment if appropriate. (I'd add my video if I knew how to do it! LOL!)
Quiet.....but a pain to install
Great, quiet fan, I have an older one in my other bathroom I installed years ago. Bought this one for my kids bathroom after putting off the install for so long. Unfortunately for me my old NuTone I yanked out (garbage) was a round oddball size, and it left a unusable hole in the drywall ceiling so my install was compounded in difficulty due to having to patch the drywall as well. The install instructions are terrible as everyone has stated and I even read thru them multiple times before doing the work. I'm also an engineer so I know how to read instructions and understand diagrams. If I was doing this again, I'd ditch the metal install bracket and just install new ferring strips attached to the roof joists spaced appropriately to sandwich the sides of the fan box. I used the "new install" method because I wasn't confident the metal bracket would be easy to hit blind thru the drywall with the screws. My joists are 23" on center so that bracket is extended all the way so it's very flimsy and not straight which would make it even harder to hit thru the drywall with the screws. Since i had to do drywall repair anyway, the "new construction" method was possible for me, others may not have this option if they're trying to reuse the old hole. The next guy who has to remove this fan won't like it though because the mounting screws are buried under the drywall with this method.

We renovated 2 bathrooms and installed one of these in each bathroom (one with the built-in light and one without). Excellent quality and very quiet. It takes a few times using it before you get used to the 8 second delay before the fan kicks on especially since it is so quiet you have to listen for it to kick on. It moves sufficient air that the mirrors do not fog up during a shower. The unit with the light provides sufficient light in the shower (about the equivalent of a 60 or 75 W bulb). For the one without the light I purchased a separate light to install that was brighter (about a 100 W bulb) because my wife wanted the sparkles in the tile so show more. Not really necessary, since the unit with the light is just fine. A little pricey, but a good product.

Great Fan & Light. Fairly easy to install considering this was a new install in our bath remodel with low head room in attic to secure to joists, wire and run the vent piping. I say that since I'm 68 and climbing around in the attic is not as easy as in my younger years :) VERY quiet and the LED light is bright, just what we needed in the new walk in shower. Wired the light and fan on separate switches both powered through a GFCI since it's over the 3' x 5' shower enclosed by glass door. HOWEVER, noted that the price is ~40% higher than it was in September of 2018 when I purchased from Home Depot. Would have given me reason to shop other options at the current price even though we love this unit.
